LISTEN TO THE WINE, TASTE THE MUSIC, BREATHE THE TERRITORY In the Diego Morra winery in Verduno (Cuneo) | Saturday 1 April 2023 at 5 pm Other dates on the calendar: 17 June, 1 July, 23 September and 21 October

At the Diego Morra winery, in Verduno (Cuneo) , welcomed by the natural embrace of some of the most suitable Barolo crus in the area, five appointments are scheduled for an extraordinary tasting, where wine, food and music coexist harmoniously and contaminate each other in an experimental and engaging journey.

"Sinestesie" , this is the evocative name of the project which invites you to "listen to the wine, savor the music, breathe the land".

The first appointment on the calendar will be on Saturday 1st April , at 5pm . Accompanied by live music by Monica Agosto (violin) and Gianpiero Gregorio (guitar), Diego Morra wines can be tasted together with the preparations of chef Clara Aimonetto in a pairing of five glasses, five courses and ten pieces of music.

" We believe that emotions can help memorize moments, sensations and fix experiences – says Francesca Garbaccio , who runs the company together with her husband Diego Morra -. By creating a stimulating context on a sensory level, we would like to encourage our guests to bring to mind the emotions experienced every time they take a glass of wine or listen to a particular song or taste a certain flavour ".

In some cellars, the combination of "tasting, food and music" is a consolidated practice: the wine is poured, traditional dishes are served and the musicians perform their own repertoire. For "Sinestesie" the formula is different: songs and music of different genres and eras are interpreted based on the single wine served.

" The musical choices - explains Monica Agosto - were inspired by the characteristics of the wines, by history and tradition. This experiment was born from the question we asked ourselves about how to describe a wine musically. Starting from listening to the sommelier, who during the tasting tells the wines through a journey of perceptions, perfumes, aromas, we wanted to recreate an appropriate atmosphere so that even hearing could enter into symbiosis with taste and smell, creating a type of tasting not told through words, but represented by sensations and emotions ".

Thus music and food combine with the freshness of Chardonnay , the velvety texture of Rosato , the sensuality of Pelaverga , the traditional essence of Dolcetto , the depth of Barbera , the elegance of Nebbiolo , the royalty of Barolo .

" We recreate a "musical environment" suitable for each wine, proposing two pieces of music or songs that reflect the sensations described in a musical key. We have ranged over different styles, genres and eras in order to offer guests a journey full of stimuli and emotions: from exciting rhythm of swing to the passion of tango, from songs that tell the Piedmontese traditions to the refined repertoire of classical music " concludes Monica Agosto.

" The important moments of our life - comments the chef Clara Aimonetto - are always accompanied by good food and good wine. The purpose of the event is to create pleasure by trying to unite three fundamental factors of our culture: the art of music, the art of wine and the art of good food, for which we have focused on the search for the harmony of the three factors. Emotions are the spirit of life and food is one of the strongest engines, which arouses feelings. The guest will come accompanied on this sensory journey through a play of textures, flavors and aromas expressed in a unique way for each finger food.Tasting the wine and listening to my memories, I wanted to create pairings that expressed my way of cooking, which is also a bit ' the way I live life: in harmony with nature, with curiosity for everything that surrounds me. The experience will end with the tasting of a chocolate, specially created for Barolo Diego Morra: a shirt of dark chocolate that embraces the ganache reflecting the flavors and aromas of the wine".

The appointment of 1st April will be followed by those of Saturday 17th June, Saturday 1st July, Saturday 23rd September and Saturday 21st October. Places are limited, booking required at this link: https://bit.ly/sinestesie2023

Diego Morra, a young, growing and constantly fermenting winery, which preserves the strong points of the Langa tradition and today associates its name in particular with the production of Pelaverga di Verduno DOC, Barolo DOCG from the Monvigliero cru and other important wines of these lands.

Diego, born in 1984, was born and raised in the vineyards of his grandfather Domenico and father Antonio. In 2006 he began his entrepreneurial journey by launching the winery that bears his name in his Verduno, among scenic rows of Nebbiolo.

" We are curious, passionate, experimenters - say the producer Diego Morra and his wife Francesca - . We enjoy our work. We want to understand the potential of the vineyards: everything starts from there. As happens for human beings, every single vineyard has great qualities to invest in and limits to know. Some people give more structure and some more tannin, some reveal tasty fruity notes and some inebriate us with spice. Some people present themselves with a floral and elegant bouquet, some give unexpected balsamic notes, some know how to be decisive, almost arrogant. Some should be encouraged and some should be softened, because they are angular and rough by nature. Differences are our wealth and should not be annihilated, but exalted".

It is precisely starting from this conviction that the "Sinestesie" project was born: each wine is able to give emotions, has its own character capable of telling about itself and the territory it comes from, with different nuances. The expression of each sip can be strongly influenced by the context, by the mood one feels, by the flavours, by the moods of a moment. Every sip is a journey, inside the wine and inside oneself, and "Sinestesie" is a project created to accompany people on this immersive and evocative journey.
