Excellent participation of the public for the manifestation of the Colli Berici, Vicenza and Gambellara Consortia at the Vicenza Conservatory. Appointment on 8 and 9 October 2022

The eleventh edition of Gustus - Vini e Sapori di Vicenza closed on Sunday 24 October 2021 with an excellent response from the public. The seat of the "Arrigo Pedrollo" Conservatory of Music in Vicenza, with its evocative arcades and frescoes, was the stage for the tasting tables of the producers of the DOC Colli Berici, Vicenza and Gambellara, of the local cuisine and of the music played by students of the Conservatory. “We are happy to be back in the historic center of Vicenza - comments Giovanni Ponchia , director of the Consorzio Vini Colli Berici - in this place full of art and culture, where the new generations are trained. All components that allowed us to experience two beautiful evenings where the wines and flavors of the territory intertwined perfectly with the environment. We can already announce with satisfaction that the next edition of Gustus , in 2022 , will be held on the weekend of 8 and 9 October ". The two masterclasses Cut or purity? Identity in comparison and Bianchi vicentini: limestone vs basalt , which sold out, were followed with great interest and attention on the part of the participants and consequent satisfaction of the speakers. The event featured 25 producers from companies in the Berici Hills, Vicenza and Gambellara with over 100 labels on offer. The organization of Gustus at the Conservatory also had a charitable purpose: to finance the restoration of a fresco inside the building , kept in the Marcella Pobbe Concert Hall.

The Consortium for the Protection of Berici Hills and Vicenza Wines today brings together twenty-six members from all over the province. The production, which for the 2020 vintage has settled on 1,770,000 bottles for the Colli Berici DOC and 410,000 bottles for the Vicenza DOC, sees a clear prevalence of red berried wines. The most cultivated vines are Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Tai Rosso, while among the whites we find Pinot Grigio, Pinot Bianco, Sauvignon, Garganega and Chardonnay.
