Garda Doc, dedicated to the Consortium's participation in an event organized in collaboration with AIS Milano.

AIS Lombardia hosts the Garda DOC Consortium for an afternoon entirely dedicated to the Denomination: on 6 November at The Westin Palace Hotel (Piazza della Repubblica 20) from 4.30pm to 8.30pm it will be possible to take part in the varietal wine tasting desk , divided into 3 thematic areas: sparkling wines, white and red wines, expressions of a territory naturally predisposed to quality viticulture, thanks to the mitigating effect and the breezes of Lake Garda. Starting from 4.30 pm the masterclass " Garda DOC: a unique territory where the stories of people intertwine with stories of terroir " will take place, led by sommelier Bruno Ferrari and conducted by Paolo Fiorini, President of the Garda DOC Consortium, who will focus on the geopedology of the Garda area.

The result of the scientific research promoted by the Consortium, the Soil Map testifies to the surprising variety it contains within it: during the masterclass an evocative documentary will be screened which uses scientific language in a popular way. A blind tasting of 12 labels will follow.

One of the areas of intervention in which we have moved most and with great success in recent years is in fact the consolidation of the image of Garda wines, with the aim of strengthening an increasingly recognizable image and ensuring that their value is perceived and received by the consumer".

The event is dedicated to AIS members. For the tasting counter, entry is free without reservation (a deposit of €5 is required for the tasting glass which will be returned upon exit); for the masterclass requires the payment of a deposit, refunded via Nexi, in case of actual participation (for info: aislombardia.it).

THE GARDA DOC CONSORTIUM

A hilly area with unique landscape characteristics, between Lombardy and Veneto, protected by the mountains and overlooking the largest basin in Italy: here, between the provinces of Brescia, Mantua and Verona, lies the DOC Garda, a wine production area in where the special climatic conditions have shaped the qualities of the different grape species that grow there over time and, still, determine their peculiarities. Recognized for the first time in 1996 with the aim of enhancing the varietal wines produced in the 10 historic production areas of the Garda area, the DOC Garda is a denomination guided by a strong spirit of innovation, capable, over the years, of evolving into based on consumer needs, while respecting a product that has very ancient origins here. Having obtained ministerial recognition in 2015 and operating erga omnes since 2016, today the Garda Doc Consortium represents 250 users of the denomination, giving voice and promoting one of the most precious food and wine excellences in Italy.
