Fascinating journey between art and wine tasting at the Podere Casanova Wine Art Shop, in the heart of the historic center of Montepulciano.

Non è solamente un’enoteca e neppure una tradizionale galleria artistica, ma piuttosto un luogo d’incontro piacevole ed informale nel cuore dell’incantevole centro storico di Montepulciano, gemma turistica ed enoica della Toscana: il Podere Casanova Wine Art Shop è un locale ricco di fascino, dove concedersi una piacevole sosta fra arte, vini eccellenti, degustazione di pregiati prodotti del territorio. Ricavato dalla ristrutturazione di un’antica casa rinascimentale della centralissima Via di Gracciano nel Corso che conduce verso la scenografica piazza Grande, il locale è enoteca e punto vendita dei vini aziendali e delle esperienze che si possono fare a Podere Casanova (l’azienda di Susanna e Isidoro Rebatto, i cui vigneti e la cui cantina si trovano a un quarto d’ora d’auto, all’imbocco della Val di Chiana), nonché galleria d’arte che dà spazio e valorizza pittori e scultori contemporanei. Nei lavori di ristrutturazione si è valorizzata la struttura originaria del posto, lunga e stretta, che dalla strada si insinua nel cuore della roccia su cui è costruita Montepulciano. La parte più interna è scavata nel tufo e un tempo vi venivano conservati viveri e derrate alimentari. Sul fondo, un passaggio evidenziato da un piccolo arco conduce, gradino dopo gradino, in una stanza segreta completamente scavata nella roccia, ideale per far invecchiare selezioni di pregiati vini di Podere Casanova.

Fino al 5 novembre il Podere Casanova Wine Art Shop ospita la Personale Rebus di Antonio Devetag. Goriziano, Antonio Devetag è giornalista professionista e blogger, scrive su varie testate di cultura e turismo ed è stato direttore generale di Mittelfest, uno dei festival più celebri del panorama europeo. Dipinge per vocazione familiare e ha esposto a Venezia, Gorizia e Trieste. “I sogni mettono insieme oggetti e fatti della vita in modo bizzarro, con una logica che i miei quadri cercano di rappresentare, aprendo interrogativi su ciò che si nasconde dietro all’Apparenza -racconta- Rebus onirici, chiavi di lettura, porte che possono aprire finestre sul mistero dell'esistenza”. Ha detto di lui il critico Paolo Rizzi: “Irrequietezza culturale e propensione verso l’esoterico e il surreale sono forse i suoi connotati distintivi più interessanti. Probabilmente questa sua versatilità gli deriva anche dalla coscienza di sentirsi mitteleuropeo, cioè alla confluenza di culture diverse: latina, slava, germanica. Restiamo davanti alle sue opere con attonito stupore e ne beviamo il filtro alchemico che ci condurrà forse a squarciare il velo nel tempio dell’Inconscio”. Sono esposti quadri di ogni dimensione realizzati quasi sempre con tecnica mista, con acrilico e colori a olio che l’autore crea con le terre, che danno vita a una ricca e inusuale tavolozza cromatica che avvolge chi si ferma al Wine Art Shop per una gustoso break con taglieri di salumi e formaggi del territorio abbinati a un calice di vino, per un aperitivo o per l’Happy Hour, o ancora per fare piacevoli percorsi tematici di degustazione di più vini o verticali.

La mostra è visitabile fino al 5 novembre. Fino al 31 maggio aperta venerdì sabato e domenica, poi tutti i giorni esclusi lunedì e martedì. Orario: 11.00-21.00

It is not just a wine shop or even a traditional art gallery, but rather a pleasant and informal meeting place in the heart of the enchanting historic center of Montepulciano , a tourist and wine gem of Tuscany: the Podere Casanova Wine Art Shop is a rich of charm, where you can enjoy a pleasant break among art, excellent wines, tasting of fine local products . Obtained from the renovation of an ancient Renaissance house on the very central Via di Gracciano nel Corso which leads towards the scenic Piazza Grande, the restaurant is a wine shop and sales point for the company wines and the experiences that can be had at Podere Casanova (Susanna's company and Isidoro Rebatto, whose vineyards and whose cellar are located a quarter of an hour's drive away, at the entrance to the Val di Chiana), as well as an art gallery that gives space to and enhances contemporary painters and sculptors. During the renovation works, the original structure of the place was enhanced, long and narrow, which creeps from the road into the heart of the rock on which Montepulciano is built. The innermost part is dug into the tuff and once food and foodstuffs were kept there. At the back, a passage highlighted by a small arch leads, step by step, to a secret room completely carved out of the rock, ideal for aging selections of fine Podere Casanova wines.

Until November 5th, the Podere Casanova Wine Art Shop hosts the personal Rebus by Antonio Devetag . Born in Gorizia, Antonio Devetag is a professional journalist and blogger, writes for various culture and tourism magazines and was general manager of Mittelfest, one of the most famous festivals on the European scene. He paints by family vocation and has exhibited in Venice, Gorizia and Trieste. “Dreams bring together objects and facts of life in a bizarre way, with a logic that my paintings try to represent, opening questions about what is hidden behind the Appearance -he says- Oneiric rebuses, interpretation keys, doors that can open windows on the mystery of existence”. The critic Paolo Rizzi said of him: “Cultural restlessness and propensity towards the esoteric and the surreal are perhaps his most interesting distinctive features. Probably this versatility also derives from his awareness of feeling Central European, that is, at the confluence of different cultures: Latin, Slavic, Germanic. We stand in front of his works with astonished amazement and drink the alchemical filter that will perhaps lead us to tear the veil in the temple of the Unconscious”. On display are paintings of all sizes made almost always with mixed media , with acrylic and oil colors that the author creates with earth, which give life to a rich and unusual color palette that envelops those who stop at the Wine Art Shop for a tasty break with platters of local cold cuts and cheeses paired with a glass of wine, for an aperitif or for Happy Hour , or even to make pleasant thematic tasting tours of several wines or verticals .
