At Sass Pordoi the highest wine tasting in the world

Anticipation is growing for the 23rd edition of a truly unique symposium, which has always attracted a large audience of experts and enthusiasts to an extraordinary location. The event opens on the 13th with a masterclass, followed the next day by free tasting of great labels from Trentino Alto Adige and Valpolicella.

Canazei, 6 September 2023 – Place the highest terrace in the heart of the Dolomites on the summit of Sass Pordoi, at 2,950 metres , with breathtaking views of the Marmolada and the Sassolungo, the Tofane and the Pale di San Martino up to the Austrian and Swiss Alps. Imagine tasting the best of the wine production of Trentino Alto-Adige and Valpolicella, accompanied by a food proposal of absolute excellence, and participating in an exclusive masterclass led by one of the best AIS sommeliers. When the top meets the top, an absolutely special event can only be born, which every year attracts an audience of wine lovers and simple enthusiasts to a truly unique location, united by the love for quality drinking and for the beauty and emotions that reserve the high mountains.

All this is Top Wine 2950 , the event organized by the Società Incremento Turistico Canazei with the technical collaboration of the Sommeliers of Fassa and Fiemme, which for twenty-three years has been embellishing autumn in the Val di Fassa , awaiting the winter season. The appointment is set for 13 and 14 October at Rifugio Maria .

In the wake of the success of the 2022 edition, this year too the event will open on the afternoon of Friday 13th with a masterclass , scheduled from 2.00 pm to 4.30 pm, dedicated to Valpolicella and its emblematic wines, signed for the occasion by Tommasi Family Estates: from the classic Valpolicella to the Ripasso, from the Igt Veronese to the famous Amarone. Stefano Tommasi , of the company of the same name, and the award-winning sommelier Roberto Anesi will be the exceptional guides called to lead the participants on a surprising oenological and cultural journey, to discover the territory and its best oenological expressions.

Saturday 14th , from 10.00 to 17.00, space for the highest wine tasting in the world . An unmissable opportunity to deepen your knowledge, in a dream setting, of the top production labels of two regions that produce highly prestigious wines. The 2023 edition of Top Wine 2950 will offer the labels of twenty companies : Cantina Bolzano, Cantina Convento Muri Gries, Cantina Cembra, Cantina Kurtatsch, Cantina Merano, Cantina St. Pauls, Caster Salleg, Castelfeder, Distilleria Marzadro, Endrizzi, Furletti Gabriele, Franz Haas, Madonna delle Vittorie, Mezzacorona-Rotari, Peter Zemmer, Pojer and Sandri, San Leonardo, Teroldego Evolution, Villa Corniole and the Veronese Tommasi.

The culinary offer is also high quality, with the Top Wine dish and a series of finger foods created by chef Giovanni Gabrielli of Rifugio Maria.

The event sees the participation of Pastificio Felicetti, Cedea Mineral Water, Sommeliers of Fassa and Fiemme, Fassa Chefs Association, ENAIP Tesero Professional Training Center, N'Outa Val di Fassa.

Participation in the masterclass on Friday 13 October costs 55 euros, including the tasting led by Roberto Anesi, while that of the Top Wine 2950 tasting on 14 October costs 80 euros, including food. Both include a return cable car ticket.
