MILAN FOOD WEEK RETURNS IN OCTOBER

  • 23/09/2026

Seven years after the last edition, Milan becomes an interactive platform dedicated to food and the evolution of gastronomic culture

Starting Thursday, October 15, Milan will host the new edition of Milano Food Week: the event, sponsored by the City of Milan and now with a new focus and content, will involve not only companies and industry professionals, but also citizens, enthusiasts, and the media to share gastronomic culture and generate opportunities for discussion on the issues that are changing the world of food.

Since the last edition, Italians' relationship with food has become more complex, adapting to a profoundly evolving society . Pandemics, inflation, geopolitical tensions, energy and environmental crises, technological innovation, and demographic shifts have impacted the role and concept of food, permanently altering choices and priorities : today, food is perceived less as a functional consumer good and more as a tool capable of impacting personal well-being, collective relationships , planetary protection, and quality of life.

Innovation means understanding and interpreting the new lifestyle , translating it into concrete solutions that respond to needs or anticipate them. Milan , a city capable of capturing trends, is the stage from which to explore the dynamism of gastronomic culture, its current facets and future prospects . Thus, Milan Food Week becomes the space to materialize ideas and visions locally, defining the elements that are changing the sector and discussing them.

At the same time, and despite a constantly evolving context, we wish to recall the intrinsic value of Italian Cuisine , the first national cuisine in the world to be recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2025. This uniqueness depends not only on the quality of the ingredients and the country's traditions, but is closely linked to culture, territory, biodiversity, innovation, and the entire supply chain involving raw materials and processes.

The event will conclude on Sunday, October 18th. Organized by SG Company and GoodGuys, with the patronage of the City of Milan , it was conceived as an interactive experimentation platform open to all. The goal of this new edition is to bring together and engage experts, citizens, food enthusiasts, and the media. Organized in collaboration with organizations, companies, universities, and research centers, the event will engage the city through institutional meetings and talks, food tours, and musical and sensory experiences. The event will ignite a renewed convivial energy, stimulating creativity and curiosity about the current and future of food.
