ITADAKIMASU, The Anime Cuisine Exhibition Comes to Milan

Inspired by the great masters of Japanese animation, such as Hayao Miyazaki, Eichiro Oda, and Masashi Kishimoto, the exhibition explores the connection between food, culture, and storytelling, bringing to life the dishes that have thrilled generations of fans around the world. From November 15, 2025, to April 6, 2026, the major exhibition event ITADAKIMASU. Hidden Stories in Anime Cuisine will be coming to Milan, transforming iconic Japanese animation dishes into real-life culinary experiences. Curated by food influencer Sam Nazionale (@pranzoakonoha) and writer Silvia Casini , the exhibition, conceived and produced by Vertigo Syndrome —with the patronage of Milan's Municipio 8 , the Consulate General of Japan in Milan , and AIRG (Italian Association of Japanese Restaurateurs )—will be hosted at Spazio Varesina 204 , in the heart of the Milan Certosa District , to take the public on a sensory journey that intertwines imagination and the culinary tradition of the Land of the Rising Sun, transforming cartoon food into an experience filled with the colors, aromas, and inspirations of pop Japan.

ITADAKIMASU. Hidden Stories in Anime Cuisine takes visitors on an immersive journey to discover the most iconic dishes of Japanese animation – from Naruto 's ramen to Totoro 's onigiri, to the bentō of great masters like Hayao Miyazaki, Eichiro Oda, and Masashi Kishimoto .

The itinerary, divided into nine scenographic rooms, offers sixteen original video recipes, thirty-eight sculptures made with the Japanese shokuhin sampuru technique, fourteen ukiyo-e prints, twenty-two posters dedicated to Studio Ghibli, thirty-seven posters and four cardboard cutouts of famous anime.

Japanese, in addition to illustrations by Loputyn and Blackbanshee, interactive content and a rich thematic bookshop.

Of particular enjoyment for visitors will be the opportunity to perform inside a characteristic Japanese café , on a real karaoke stage , singing the theme songs of the most beloved anime at the top of their lungs.

Each visitor will also be given a small recipe booklet of anime-inspired Japanese dishes, personally written by the exhibition curator @pranzoakonoha, upon entry . The back of the booklet contains instructions for participating in an engaging themed treasure hunt, designed to make the experience even more engaging and fun.

As always, the organization confirms the Satisfied or Refunded formula: visitors who are not fully satisfied with the exhibition can request a full refund of their ticket.
