Gustus – Wines and Flavors of Vicenza 2026: Toasting the 16th Edition

On Saturday, September 19th and Sunday, September 20th, the "Arrigo Pedrollo" Conservatory of Music in Vicenza will host the sixteenth edition of Gustus – Wines and Flavors of Vicenza , an event dedicated to the Colli Berici, Vicenza, and Gambellara DOC wines. Over 30 wineries will present more than 120 labels to the public, in an event that combines tastings, music, local cuisine, and a celebration of the city's artistic heritage.

The event will open both days with WineLabs , tastings designed to introduce the public to Vicenza's excellent wines . The meetings, led by Cristian Maitan , Best Sommelier of Veneto 2018 and Best Sommelier of Italy 2023, and Fabio Gobbi , wine educator, will be held at 4:30 pm , before the tasting sessions begin. Visitors will be able to meet the producers on Saturday from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm and on Sunday from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm , learning more about the different expressions of the three appellations.

Gustus will offer a journey through native grape varieties and international interpretations, from the distinctive character of Tai Rosso and Garganega to the elegance of Pinot Bianco and Sauvignon, and Bordeaux blends of Cabernet, Merlot, and Carménère. This year, wine will once again dialogue with music thanks to the participation of students from the Conservatory , while the food offering will be rich in local specialties.

" Gustus represents a key event for exploring the Vicenza winemaking identity ," says Giovanni Ponchia , director of the Consortium. "The decision to open the event with WineLabs stems from the desire to offer the public an additional perspective , through territories, grape varieties, and winemaking interpretations. It's an opportunity to meet the producers, learn the stories behind each label, and experience wine as an integral part of the local culture."

The sixteenth edition also confirms the link between Gustus and the “Arrigo Pedrollo” Conservatory: part of the proceeds will in fact go towards the continuation of the restoration of The Crucifixion , a fresco by the Vicenza painter Giovanni Vajenti Speranza kept at the institute.
