Festival of Wine in Riana di Fosciandora

In Riana di Fosciandora (Lu), on Sunday, 19th October 2014, the "Festa del Vino" (Festival of Wine) takes place. Now in its 10th edition, from 11:00 a.m. onwards and then throughout the day, in the streets of the village you can taste Infarinata, corn Polenta Incaciata or with mushroom sauce, roasted Polenta with mushrooms and cheese, potato bread baked in a wood oven, cheese, meats, cakes, Cottarelle and many other homemade flavors, accompanied by good glasses of wine.


To liven up the festival, the spectacular fountain from which, as if by magic, the wine of Riana will gush, and a market of crafts and typical products will be prepared through the streets of the village. An exhibition of chairs: Garfagnana Chairart.

From 12.00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., official participation of Poste Italiane with special cancellation with image as a souvenir of the event.

"Maggi and his accordion" will cheer up the day with performances.

At lunch, rich menu complete with bag and glass as a tribute in memory of the festival. In the afternoon, donuts.

At 3:00 p.m., the 5th "Barrels Run" starts, a very original race with individual time trial which consists of pushing barrels in a vineyard.

A must: the Special Train "Flavours in Carriage", departing from Viareggio at 9:28 a.m., Lucca at 10:01 a.m., and arriving at Fosciandora at 11:05 a.m. Return with departure at 5:54 p.m. Info about the Train: 800533999.
