IN SOLLICCIANO "APERITIVO GALEOTTO" ("JAILBIRD APERITIF") IN THE COMPANY OF NICOLA SCHIOPPO OF OSTERIA CIPOLLA ROSSA IN FLORENCE
ALL THE PROCEEDS OF THE EVENING WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE RESTORATION OF THE FLORENCE BAPTISTERY
Accompanying the buffet, the wines from the lands confiscated from the Mafia of the PLACIDO RIZZOTTO SOCIAL COOPERATIVE – LIBERA TERRA of Palermo
In the "Giardino degli Incontri" ("Garden of Meetings") of Sollicciano, a charming space inside the Florentine correctional facility designed by architect Michelucci, the penultimate evening in the company of "APERITIVI GALEOTTI", an initiative of deep social value that combines in a unique way gastronomic suggestions and solidarity.
On Thursday, 4th June, starting from 6:00 p.m., the ten inmates involved in this important project of training and social reintegration will realize a tasty "finger food" aperitif – open to the public by reservation – with the support of NICOLA SCHIOPPO, chef and owner of OSTERIA CIPOLLA ROSSA of Florence (www.osteriacipollarossa.com). Located just a few steps from the historic market of San Lorenzo, the venue has always focused its proposals on authentic dishes and flavours, available in a way that is faithful to the culinary memory of Florence and of Tuscany: the same imprinting that will brand also the works thought for this "Aperitivo Galeotto". After the "hard work" in the kitchen, the inmates will be present in the hall to take care also of the service, including that of wines from the land confiscated from the Mafia of the PLACIDO RIZZOTTO SOCIAL COOPERATIVE – LIBERA TERRA of San Giuseppe Jato (PA – www.liberaterra.it) .
All proceeds of the evening (20 € per person) will contribute to the restoration of the Baptistery in Florence. Between a plate and the other, inmates will offer the public a series of readings.
Wanted by Unicoop Firenze, which in addition to providing the necessary raw materials, employs prisoners paying them regularly, and by the Director of the prison facility Maria Grazia Giampiccolo, "APERITIVI GALEOTTI" are possible thanks to the crucial intake of Pantagruel – Association for the rights of inmates Onlus (www.asspantagruel.org), the collaboration of the Ministry of Justice and the Directorate of the NCP Sollicciano District Prison, the support of the Florentine delegation of the Fisar and the artistic supervision of journalist Leonardo Romanelli.
