Bagna Cauda Day returns to Asti, Piedmont, and the world.

  • 09/10/2026

The fourteenth edition of the largest collective bagna cauda will take place on November 20th, 21st, and 22nd, and November 27th, 28th, and 29th. The new addition is the "palot da fujot."

This gag sets us free. This is the motto of Bagna Cauda Day 2026 , which returns for its fourteenth edition over two long weekends: November 20, 21, and 22, and November 27, 28, and 29. And for those who still have a craving for bagna and want to indulge in a second treat in the dead of winter, the days of Bagna della Merla will also return, on January 29, 30, and 31, 2027 .

Conceived and promoted by the Astigiani Cultural Association , over the years the Bagna Cauda Day has become the largest collective and contemporary bagna cauda, capable of bringing together thousands of people around the fujot in Asti, Piedmont and even beyond the Italian borders.

A popular festival that continues to grow: over 160 venues in Piedmont and around the world will offer it, including restaurants, taverns, farmhouses, wineries, and other convivial venues.

"This gag sets us free": Pedro Porro's red Volvo

Like every year, Bagna Cauda Day will have its own fabric bib , given to participants and which has now become one of the most recognizable symbols of the event.

The 2026 edition is signed by Pedro Porro , a young artist who has chosen to accompany the motto “This gag makes us free” , chosen from hundreds suggested by the bagnacaudisti last year, with a very personal image: a red Volvo Polar travelling around the world .

It's not just any car. It's the Volvo Polar belonging to her father GianLuigi Porro, who passed away last June. He drove it in the classic car race Carovana della Bagna Cauda. In the drawing, it becomes an image of travel and freedom, but also a loving way to continue carrying a loved one with you.

A gag, then, that tells a story that goes beyond bagna cauda. Because sitting down at the table together also means feeling free to be with others, talk, laugh, exchange ideas, and share.

Bagna cauda speaks all languages

Born in Asti in 2013, Bagna Cauda Day has traveled far and wide over the years, bringing the ritual of the fujot far beyond the borders of Piedmont and Italy. This latest edition also saw the large table involve locals and communities abroad, bringing together Piedmontese far from home, Italians abroad, and countless curious onlookers captivated by this convivial ritual.

From New York to Shanghai, from Japan to London and other European cities , bagna cauda has become a way to come together and, at the same time, to tell a story of Piedmont. A dish deeply rooted in its homeland that has proven its ability to travel, bringing everyone together around the same fujot.

Attendances from abroad are also expected for 2026, which will once again expand the great Bagna Cauda Day table around the world.

The news: the “Palot da fujot” is here

The 2026 Bavagliolone will also bring a surprise. Each bib will come with an original and unique “Palot da fujot,” a flat metal spoon designed to carry the lit tea light under the fujot, specially designed by the engineers at Way Assauto in Asti . Designed to accompany the ritual of bagna cauda, once its purpose at the table is complete, the Palot will have a second life: it will transform into a keychain , a memento of the 2026 edition.

There will also be window stickers to identify participating establishments, t-shirts for staff , paper placemats to accompany each place setting and Acciù , the now famous cloth anchovy mascot of Bagna Cauda Day, naturally in the 2026 edition.

Bagna cauda, a ritual that continues to unite

Oil, anchovies, and garlic. And then cardoons, cabbage, turnips, beets, potatoes, leeks, Jerusalem artichokes, and the many Piedmontese autumn vegetables.

Bagna cauda remains a simple yet powerfully convivial dish. It's eaten slowly, all together, with a lit fujot in front of it. It's a traditional peasant recipe that Bagna Cauda Day has transformed into a contemporary celebration without altering its spirit.

The formula remains the same that has made the event so successful: many different venues, one great collective ritual, and the freedom to choose your own bagna cauda.

In 2026, participating establishments will also be presented on the Bagna Cauda Day website with the traditional "taste traffic lights" : Red for the classic bagna cauda, "as God commands"; Yellow for the "heretical" version, with diluted garlic; Green for the "atheist" version, without garlic.

The “Sporta a ca'” will also be back, the take-away bagna cauda with its vegetables, for those who prefer to celebrate the ritual at home.

The starting price remains €30 , with wine offered at €15 a bottle . Some establishments also offer "Bagna Sovrana" or "Finale in Gloria" with truffles.

Barbera and bagna cauda, table companions

As always, the grand table will be accompanied by local wines. Bagna Cauda Day renews its partnership with four historic Asti wineries: Bava di Cocconato, Braida di Rocchetta Tanaro, Cascina Castlèt di Costigliole d'Asti, and Coppo di Canelli .

An alliance in the name of Barbera d'Asti , the natural companion of bagna cauda and wine that shares with this dish the same convivial and profoundly Piedmontese character.

The “Testa d'aj” Award

Since 2016, Bagna Cauda Day has awarded the title of "Testa d'aj" to those who demonstrate courage, passion, and humor in their personal or professional journey. The list of honorees includes names such as Guido Ceronetti, Antonio Ricci, Enzo Bianchi, Carlin Petrini, Margherita Oggero, Oscar Farinetti, Alice Sotero, Giorgio and Caterina Calabrese, Luca Mercalli, Fulvio Marino, Don Luigi Ciotti, Alessandra Comazzi, Lorenzo Pregliasco, and Giorgia Sanlorenzo. In 2025, the honorees were Raffaele Iachetti, Gian Marco Griffi, Matteo Piano, Raffaella Bologna, and Paolo Pejrone.

Bagna Cauda Day is also good for the area

Since its inception, Bagna Cauda Day has been more than just a food festival. The Astigiani Cultural Association donates the event's proceeds to charitable and environmental protection initiatives. Among the projects supported is the Bosco degli Astigiani , in the hills of Viatosto. The park, located on over five hectares of land donated to the Municipality of Asti by the Banca d'Asti, is destined to become a large public space dedicated to biodiversity and the environment.

So, ideally, every fujot lit also contributes to growing a piece of greenery.

The list of participating venues, how to participate, and all updates on the program will be published on the official Bagna Cauda Day website.
