An old red house in a dominant position on the summit of a hill, in the town of Cison di Valmarino (Treviso), marks the heart of the Vigne Matte wine company, in the middle of the hills of the Conegliano–Valdobbiadene district, in the classic Prosecco area. The company, with certified quality system UNI EN ISO 9001:2000, successfully pursues the most modern techniques both in the care of the vineyards and in the production of wines.
The owner is Giovanni Rui, who, years ago, bought a house of the late nineteenth century with lands around it, for a total of about thirty hectares, and created an excellent winery in a few years, with a carefully studied and planned work. Next to the house, with bright red walls, Giovanni Rui created a modern and functional winery, partly inside the hill, equipped with the most modern technologies and visited with interest by students of the wine school and of the university courses in oenology of Conegliano, by delegations of sommeliers and amateurs, both to learn about the wine business and to study its modern and efficient organization. Giovanni Rui wants to achieve an ambitious goal: to bring his hill and the whole area of Rolle to be a recognized cru within the Prosecco area, bringing Rolle to the fame once conquered by the high quality of its wines, with precise characteristics and unmistakable aromas, flavors and structure.
The winery, built into the hillside, is a great architectural work designed to allow you to get the ideal temperature for storing wine and is equipped with the most modern equipment for winemaking techniques: the vibrating plate for the collection of grapes which avoids the abrasion of grapes and clusters while fully preserving the aroma and fragrance, to the use of natural decantation to make more complex and structured wines, to the light filtrations before bottling, and the long sparkling making process of Prosecco.
