The devotion to tradition of vintners is an important thing for the Pichierri family. The company’s history is linked to the great paternal figure of Pichierri Gaetano, a farmer from birth, who grew fertile vineyards of Primitivo; later he deepened his knowledge as a winemaker in the wine cellars of the Sava area, that at the beginning of the twentieth century were known throughout the national territory, also thanks to its winemakers, Don Amerigo Mancini and Guido Cal.

Immediately after war, the Pichierri family, still led by the paternal figure, Gaetano, began on its own the production in the winery of chosen wines, leaving to their children Cosimo, Vittorio, Roberto and Aldo the task of continuing the great tradition of the family.

In the 70s, they started bottling, to disseminate in the best way the wine productions of Sava.

The continuous quality improvement of Primitivo in the dry and natural sweet types is the key word for the Pichierri winery, this has allowed the high quality reached, a modest export to the United States, Canada, Sweden and Germany. Today, with so much pride the Pichierri family continue their work of artisans of wine, this is the designation they prefer, in a constant and rigorous way, improve the quality of the wines produced at the winery, in order to make even the most superfine palates enjoy the good nectar of the lands of Sava.
