The Colli Mantovani DOC Consortium is placed in a land of famous battles and a cultural meeting point between Veneto and Lombardy.
The moraine hills of Mantua are located at the foot of the hills, which border with the provinces of Brescia and Verona, crossed by the river Mincio and extend to the south of Lake Garda. The geography of the area of the Colli Mantovani DOC Consortium, the mild and ventilated climate for the influence of the lake, the nature of the moraine and clayey soil form an ideal environment for the vine.
Today more than a thousand hectares of specialized vineyards cover the hilly area in the municipalities of Ponti sul Mincio, Monzambano, Volta Mantovana, Cavriana, Solforino and Castiglione delle Siviere.
The Garda Colli Mantovani Wine has gained the recognition of the DOC in 1976.
In this area the local wineries produce, in addition to the Garda Colli Mantovano DOC and the Garda DOC, also Sparkling wine, Raisin wine.
