the Maltese Agricultural Company sees about 15 hectares in production, fragmented and parceled into about 30 plots, with an annual production of 1,200 Ql. of table grapes, both white and red. This plots, however unfavorable, has allowed us to have different "terroirs", different exposures and altitudes, suitable for a diversification of cultivated varieties useful to give a touch of uniqueness.
Azienda Agricola Solidea was founded in 1998 by the desire of Giacomo D’Ancona to put to work and develop his passion for wine and all the technical heritage accumulated over the years, firstly with his father, and later, after his untimely death, no sooner had he completed his studies, in the family company.
The company is strictly family–run, Giacomo is an oenologist and follows the different stages of production of raisin wine, while his wife Solidea, who gives her name to the entire line of products, is mainly engaged in the commercial side.
The company’s goal is to offer the consumer a young and elegant product, this all thanks to the support of modern and adequate plants, the traditional processing and a limited production of bottles.
The quality of the SOLIDEA line is the result of an accurate selection of the grapes grown in Pantelleria in the areas most exposed to the south, in the careful selection of the more valuable clusters, strictly hand–picked, which will then be put to dry for a few weeks and that will constitute the essential element of the production of raisin and moscato wines.
The growth and commitment of our company are confirmed by the increasing demand of the market and from consumers of the Solidea line, which includes raisin wine, Moscato and Lios, white table wine.
From the passion of a young entrepreneur lover of his country, in the mid–80s the Firriato brand was founded, in the heart of a beautiful scenery like the Agro of Trapani, for millennia marked by the culture of farming and winemaking and kissed by a wild and intense nature. In a few years Salvatore Di Gaetano and Vinzia Novara, his wife and companion in this wonderful adventure, led the company to great acclaim and notoriety at international level.
Florio is one of the historic wineries in Sicily, was founded in 1883 by the entrepreneur Vincenzo Florio, who made build a plant for the production of Marsala wine over an area of 100,000 square meters. Today, as then, wines continue to be produced and aged in the magnificent wine cellars dug into the tuff. The cellars extend over 20,000 square meters and maintain a constant temperature throughout the year approximately 5,000,000 liters of Marsala wine in Slavonian oak casks and typical kegs.
The Salvatore Ferrandes company is a small family run farm with organic cultivation of terraced land on the island of Pantelleria, where the family, of Spanish origin, has been present for more than six hundred years. The favorable climate, the generous fertility of the volcanic soil and the homemade care of transformations allow to obtain products of the highest quality such as capers, raisin grapes and Passito di Pantelleria.
Donnafugata is a family-owned winery that produces high-quality wines with a strong focus on sustainability. The Saraceno Cooperative Winery currently has 900 members, who cultivate about 9000 square meters of land planted with vines. The enlargements of the winery have occurred over the years, and nowadays infrastructure improvements are in progress to allow the vinification of best quality grapes.
The Orestiadi winery takes its name from the Orestiadi Foundation of Art and High Culture. In the winery we use the most modern technologies for the processing of grapes and wine storage. A dream three generations long : in the early nineties grandfather Rocco began the promotion and marketing of Bianco Alcamo; his son Nicolò started the unbottled wine and concentrated must production.
In 2007 Antonello, agronomist and owner of the firm, realizes the dream: the production of high quality wines, typical of Alcamo Doc area.
The Tonnino Family has always cultivated its land with passion for the traditions, deep respect for the territory and attention for technological innovation. Nestled in a landscape of rare beauty, at an altitude between 200 and 450 meters above sea level, the Tonnino Estates benefit naturally from the unique features of the local environment which determine the qualitative excellence of a wine. The microclimate is marked by the perfect balance between the light, the presence of appropriated temperatures for the ideal ripening of grapes, and the day-night temperature difference of more than 15°C which provides the preservation of grapes wealth of aromas. The estates cover more than 150 hectares in a terroir which includes as principal characteristics an excellent fertility and a natural quantity of carbonates and microelements helpful for the grapes. All these factors, joint with a microclimate influence of the Belice River that crosses the estates, create a pedoclimatic area and an ideal habitat for the wine cultivation. Research and experimentation both in the vineyard and in the wine cellar are the expression of a trend aiming at excellent quality which manifests itself in the products. The presence and interaction of various environmental, genetic and human resources are all bound together by a single approach: love and passion for the environment preservation. The winery exports red and white wines all over the world, in countries such as Japan, United States, China, United Kingdom, and in the North and East Europe.
