My name is Stefania Pepe, daughter of the vinegrower Emidio Pepe, who n 1964 began selling bottled wine, that his grandfather, Emidio Pepe, already in 1899 sold in bulk: Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC.
I am here, in the middle of our vineyards, 7 hectares of Montepulciano and Trebbiano d’Abruzzo DOC 100%, cultivated personally by my father with biological methods, ie without the use of chemical and synthetic fertilizers.
It is time to harvest! We thank Lord that allows us to collect in a few days the result of months and months of painstaking work.
More than 30 years ago my father started the selection of clones of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo to graft on American cuttings (because unaffected by phylloxera), and continues today with the very short pruning (to have a few buds and, therefore, a lower quantity and better quality of grapes per vine), green pruning and, finally, the hand selection of the bunches of grapes that turn into Vino Pepe!

The radiant vineyard hills of Torri Cantine express an infinite variety of scents and all the colors of the earth warmed by the heat of the sun. The Torri vineyards extend for 60 hectares in the municipalities of Colonnella, Controguerra and Torano, from 100 to 300 meters above sea level. The favorable climatic conditions and the generous soil, together with the patient and scrupulous work in the vineyard and in the cellar, have made it possible to obtain wines of great value. With these admirable premises and proud of its vigorous roots, today Torri writes his new story, based on full respect for nature and the fruit that gives life to wine, on innovative and constantly fermenting ideas and on the uncompromising excellence of its products. . These are the concepts behind the new labels, full expression of the quality and peculiarities of our precious terroir.
