Lorenzo Palla, owner of the Loredan Gasparini company, is the spokesperson for the valorization of the products of the past.

This is how Lorenzo Palla , son of Giancarlo Palla, owner of the Loredan Gasparini company, on the slopes of Montello, and of the import and distribution company Venegazzù Vini, describes his project dedicated to the rediscovery of the ancient Treviso wines and liqueurs. A commitment represented first of all by the valorisation of the Venegazzù, the only sub-area of the DOC Montello denomination, of the Asolo Prosecco DOCG, of which Loredan Gasparini was the first producer, but also of the Blackcurrant liqueur Farfalla Rossa and Piera Dolza, the Tochiato di Fregona DOCG , made, respectively, by Nicolò Gera and the Cantina Produttori di Fregona, liqueurs and wines that the Palla family promotes and markets.

The journey starts from Venegazzù , which for Loredan Gasparini, the most famous company of the Palla family, means history. An important wine, among the first Bordeaux blends created in Italy after the war. Not everyone knows that this combination between Cabernet and Merlot was born in Veneto even before other parts of Italy.

Among the most challenging projects is the valorisation of Farfalla Rossa , a blackcurrant liqueur born from the reinterpretation of an ancient recipe by Francesco Gera (1803-1867), doctor and founding father of the Enological School of Conegliano, and today produced by his descendant Nicolò Gera. An unmistakable liqueur which, at the time, was proposed as a remedy for depression. On the palate it is decidedly complex and ranges between sour and astringent notes of blackcurrant, which harmonize with a selection of spices and herbs. The liqueur is ideal for consumption on any occasion, before or after dinner, as an aperitif, smooth, combined with bubbles, mixed in cocktails and as a digestive.

The commitment to valorising Treviso winemaking is also represented by the valorisation of Torchiato di Fregona DOCG Piera Dolza , a passito wine which survives thanks to the commitment of a group of seven historic producers, gathered in the Cantina Prottici di Fregona. These keep alive a long tradition dating back to 1600, which involves drying three native grapes on racks: Glera, Verdiso and Boschera, grown only in the territories of the municipalities of Fregona, Sarmede and Cappella Maggiore.

<< The Treviso area has great wealth and our goal is to make it known on a national level, giving growth opportunities to small producers who deserve attention.>> Concludes Lorenzo Palla.
