Gold medal for the Grappa Fuoriclasse Leon 7 Anni and silver medal for the Grappa Agadeìta Invecchiata from the Treviso distillery (the mountain grappa that pays homage to Cortina in the most important international spirits competition.

The 27th edition of Spirits Selection by CMB, the world's most renowned and prestigious spirits competition, honors Castagner. The 2025 edition was held in Mexico, where a jury of 140 carefully selected and trained international experts evaluated 2,598 spirits samples from 70 countries. These numbers help illustrate the value of this competition, which encompasses the full spectrum of spirits, from the most popular like whisky, cognac, and gin, to more niche products like Japanese awamori or Greek tsipouro, as well as grappa.

The judges awarded Distilleria Castagner two important awards: the Gold Medal for Grappa Fuoriclasse Leon 7 Anni, and the Silver Medal for Grappa Agadeìta Invecchiata, the latest addition to the Castagner family; the grappa dedicated to Cortina, made with pomace from vineyards in the Belluno Dolomites and aged in oak barrels in the Castagner Distillery's majestic barrel cellar.

"Right now, I'm a particularly proud father," comments master distiller Roberto Castagner. "For me, the Fuoriclasse Leon 7-year-old represents the finest expression of grappa, a small masterpiece for sharing special moments. From this perspective, the gold medal is a testament to our understanding of grappa, an international recognition that adds to the consolidated Italian appreciation: just a few days ago, we received the news that our Fuoriclasse Leon Riservas, 3, 7, and 14 years old, have all received Bibenda's 5 Grappoli award in the 2026 guide as well, a confirmation that increases their absolute value.

Agadeìta is part of this tradition and, in its first official competition, immediately won a medal: I hope this is a good omen for our grappa dedicated to Cortina, in this year in which the international presence in the queen of the Dolomites will be even greater.”
