His name is a tribute to the former Italian boxer Primo Carnera, nicknamed ''The American''.
The recipe proposed here has its roots in a wonderful land, Emilia: the year is 1814 , and the Antica Distilleria Casoni is born in Finale Emilia (Modena). This cocktail traces the history of the distillery with the two main ingredients of the Americano: Casoni Bitter 1814 and the new Casoni Vermouth 1814 , to which the inevitable soda top is added.
For an American with an all-Italian taste!
