Tenuta Cavalier Pepe presents the sensorial laboratory on lavender to learn the techniques of conservation, distillation and to taste it with original culinary proposals.

From the vineyards to the lavender fields, the step is short. The appointment is in Sant'Angelo All'Esca, in the province of Avellino to collect lavender, discover its properties, learn the techniques for conservation and distillation, create a personal bag of lavender flowers and taste it with surprising culinary proposals .

The reception is always in the Cellar at 16.00 between pies, juices and coffee. Here, in the cool air, we continue with the guided tour and the explanation of the winemaking and aging process of the wines. From the cellar, walking through the vineyards and centuries-old olive groves, you walk towards the lavender field of the "Lavanda d'Irpinia" farm. Admiring the beauty of the flowers and flooded by their scent, guests will receive an explanation of the different types of lavender and their cultivation methods, before moving on to the medicinal and curative properties, already known in ancient times to the Greeks and Romans. Even more interesting will be learning how to dry and distill lavender once it has been harvested. Furthermore, it will be possible to create a personal aromatic bag.

All the Friends of the Estate and the new guests will spend a different and relaxing afternoon, which will culminate with an aperitif on straw bales, sipping Oro Spumante and enjoying the sunset over the villages of the surrounding hills.

For those wishing to complete this new experience at the table, the evening continues a few steps away at the panoramic restaurant La Vista. For the occasion, a special menu with lavender oil and mousse was created by the restaurant's Chefs in collaboration with the well-known Chef Anna Chiavazzo. The musical group the "Poterico" will accompany the evening. In combination, here are the wines of the Cavalier Pepe estate for tasting: "Bianco di Bellona" Irpinia Coda di Volpe Doc 2022, "Vigna Santa Vara" Irpinia Falanghina Doc Selezione 2021, "Santo Stefano" Irpinia Campi Taurasini DOC 2017, "Chicco d' Gold” Fiano Passito Igt 2019.

To reach the estate, the recommended itinerary is to take the A16 Napoli-Bari motorway, exit at the Benevento-Castel del Lago motorway toll booth, continue towards Taurasi (13 km) and then towards Luogosano (3 km).
