Since 2020, the year that gives the company its name, every decision has been driven by the desire to create wines that represent both winemaking excellence and a concrete commitment to the territory.
Ventiventi has made sustainability not just an aseptic commercial strategy, but a daily promise, a pact with the land and with those who work it, a reflection of the personal commitment of each member of the family. As Andrea Razzaboni , the company's oenologist, emphasizes, " we do not produce sustainable wines because that is what the market demands, but because that is what we are".
The awareness that respect for nature is the first step to obtain authentic wines, guides every production choice. Since the first planting, in 2016, organic cultivation has been the cornerstone of the Razzaboni brothers' philosophy: each vine has grown without the use of synthetic chemicals, respecting natural cycles and preserving biodiversity.
Sustainability for the company does not stop at the vineyards, but involves every aspect of production. Since 2019, the photovoltaic system has been upgraded, going from an initial capacity of 29 kW to almost 100 kW. This milestone has allowed us to get ever closer to energy self-sufficiency, with a significant reduction in CO₂ emissions. At the same time, Ventiventi has introduced an innovative drip irrigation system, developed in collaboration with Irritec, a world leader in precision irrigation. This technology allows us to optimize the use of water, avoiding waste and ensuring maximum respect for this precious resource. Every drop thus becomes the symbol of a production commitment without compromise.
The focus on efficiency is also reflected in the other production phases. Thanks to the investment in a new disgorging line and a filling machine, the company has also achieved self-sufficiency in tirage and bottling, reducing transport and ensuring total control over quality. Furthermore, the production spaces have been expanded with new cells and an area dedicated to tonneaux, used for the preparation of liqueur wine and the refinement of reserves. This choice confirms a strategic vision that combines innovation and tradition, with an eye to the future.
For Ventiventi, sustainability is a concept that evolves together with the winery. Every choice, from cultivation to winemaking, is designed to build an agricultural and production model that looks to the future without forgetting the bond with its roots. “For us ,” Andrea continues, “innovation means finding a balance between modernity and respect for nature. At Ventiventi, technological progress is never an end in itself, but a tool to guarantee quality with the utmost respect for the land, plants and the environment. Thanks to technology, we can significantly reduce the use of copper and sulphur, relying not on chemistry, but on the regenerative force of nature itself. Our new grape harvester is a concrete example of how a modern approach can improve the final product: bringing the grapes to the winery quickly and at perfect ripeness allows us to work with a low use of sulphites, keeping the identity of the wine intact. Modernity, for us, is never opposed to tradition, but accompanies it with order, precision and a constant dedication to respecting the environment.”
Company profile short
It all began in 2014 with the acquisition of the land with the aim of rooting a dream in the Emilian land that, in Medolla (MO), hosts the 70 hectares of property, of which 30 are vineyards, and the winery. The choice of land is not accidental. The alluvial texture, with 45% clay, 47% silt and 8% sand, offers an ideal habitat for the vine. With the first planting in 2016, the roots are not only those of the vines, but those of a family ready to take care of every row, every shoot, aware that patience is the first ingredient of success.
The first harvest of 2018 represents the fruit of years of waiting and work, but it is only the beginning. The real turning point comes in 2020, the year that not coincidentally gives the winery its name. With the official marketing of the first wines, Ventiventi enters the market and begins to make its way in a competitive and constantly evolving sector. The choice of the Classic Method , the commitment to sustainability and the obsessive attention to quality prove to be the key to standing out. The approach based on the enhancement of local vines, such as Lambrusco Salamino di Santa Croce, Sorbara, Ancellotta and Pignoletto, we find international varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, Cabernet Sauvignon and Traminer. Today, production includes over 66,000 bottles of Classic Method, Charmat and still wines.
“ Our project stands out because it represents the synthesis of three different visions and approaches. Working as brothers is not always easy, but it is precisely in this complexity that we find our strength,” say the Razzaboni brothers, Andrea, Riccardo and Tommaso. The enthusiasm for the challenge is reflected in the entire production philosophy, which sees in the young, dynamic and family approach an added value capable of translating into unique market proposals.
From November 2023, Ventiventi becomes part of FIVI - Federazione Italiana Vignaioli Indipendenti - a choice that strengthens the company's identity and certifies its authentic and transparent approach.
