The first half of 2024 saw a 2.5% drop in wine sales in large-scale retail trade, with still and sparkling wines decreasing by 3.4%, while sparkling wines grew by 4.2%. However, the overall value of sales increased by 0.6%, reaching 1.4 billion euros.
Italian wine exports are growing, with a 3.1% in value and 2.5% in volume. Veneto leads exports, followed by Tuscany, while Piedmont records a 2.2% decrease. The United States remains the main market, followed by Germany and the United Kingdom, with positive performances in many countries, except France and Switzerland.
