THE GARDA DOC CONSORTIUM HAS PRESENTED TO THE NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL PRESS THE FIRST SOIL MAP OF THE GARDA DOC DENOMINATION, WHICH MAPS THE "PEDODIVERSITY" OF THIS VAST WINE-GROWING TERRITORY.

14 June , SommacampagnaThe Garda DOC Consortium presented the first Charter of Soils of the DOC Garda denomination.
We are enormously satisfied with the success achieved by the presentation of the soil map and with the outcome of the conference day ” declares the President of the Garda Doc Consortium Paolo FioriniThis document, the result of various studies promoted by the Consortium, not only bears witness to the continuous investment of Garda DOC in the scientific field, but also embodies the values and the spirit of innovation of our Consortium which, in addition to the soil map, wanted to make a documentary with an informative slant ".
In fact, the dissemination of the soil map of the Garda DOC denomination took place in a unique and innovative way: not through a paper publication, but through an evocative documentary that can be easily used by anyone, an effective and impactful tool, which represents a real resource for community, which is already having great success. The documentary was made in collaboration with the Kondoo company of Gallarate.
Among the speakers at the conference, Giovanna Prandini , Vice-President of the Consortium and President of Ascovilo , declared “ Ascovilo participated with enthusiasm in the Garda Doc Consortium event with the 13 Consortiums for the Protection of Lombardy wines. The various technical in-depth sessions on soils he grape varieties have found a frame that tells the cultural depth of Made in Italy agricultural products, where tradition and wisdom are handed down from generation to generation. Let's join forces to become more and more attractive and attentive to coherently communicate the cultural value of wine ”.
The soil map of the Garda Doc denomination, in fact, for the first time maps and unites a vast and varied territory, between three different provinces of two regions: Brescia, Mantua and Verona. Doctor Giuseppe Benciolini , author of the soil map, pedologist specializing in surveying and processing soil maps, declares “ I have coined a new term to best express what constitutes the most characterizing aspect of the Garda DOC denomination, i.e. its surprising variety of soils: pedodiversity . This territory, in fact, contains within it different types of soil which are in turn derived from the great variety of geological processes and geomorphological modeling that have affected the continent over the last 200 million years.
Soil map and documentary are available online, on the channels of the Garda Doc Consortium, and represent tangible proof of the Consortium's commitment to promoting the incredible area of the denomination
