Great news for Vinitaly 2014: there will be a new exhibition place dedicated to organic wine. Vinitalybio is the new specialised exhibition dedicated to organic wine. The idea has been set up by Vinitaly and FederBio

The request of organic wine is constantly increasing abroad and in Italy. This is the reason why Vinitaly 2014 will host Vinitalybio, the specialised exhibition dedicated do certified organic wines. It is an idea by Veronafiere and Federbio, and the first edition will be implemented within the 48th Vinitaly, scheduled from 6th to 9th April 2014.

The project aims to enhance the certified oenological production. «The project ? Ettore Riello, president of Veronafiere, explains ? responds to the authority’s logic to innovate continuously its products in order to adapt it to the changes of the market. Vinialybio is a great opportunity of exposure for the Italian organic wineries that represent 6,5% of the Italian vineyards with 53,000 hectares cultivated, placing Italy at the second place for extension at the world level. Italy, moreover, with a quote of 13%, represents the third exporter of organic wines in the USA».

«With the entry into force of the 2012 regulations on the organic production also of wine -
Giovanni Mantovani, general manager of Veronafiere, explains ? we had the opportunity to adequate the European regulations on our fair offer, giving a separate space
to the certified productions. As all the ideas that we field for the exhibitions, even
Vinitalybio is thought to favour business and then the agreement with FederBio includes
also an activity of incoming to bring to Verona buyers coming from the most interesting markets
for the consumption of organic wines, especially Germany, Switzerland and the Scandinavian Countries».

»Thanks to the Vinitalybio project ? Paolo Carnemolla, president of FederBio, states ? we will have the opportunity to finally give visibility and voice to the certified organic wine, that represents the only guarantee for those who want to purchase a wine obtained according to the principles and the strict rules of the EU in the biological field. Its strength is right in the certification, assigned from the cultivation of grapes to the bottling, to third parties expressly authorized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry. This is the only fundamental prerequisite to take part in the event and respect of which FederBio will support Veronafiere with appropriate personnel and targeted inspections. As a matter of fact, the organic certification is now recognized internationally even outside the EU, so it is a unique opportunity for Italian wine to further improve its market position».
