Terre d'Aenòr, a Franciacorta winery that has been practicing organic viticulture since its founding in 2018, sees it not as a destination, but as the foundation of its production approach.

In Franciacorta, some people didn't choose organic winemaking to follow a trend, but rather considered it the only viable way to grow wine from the very beginning. This is the case with Terre d'Aenòr, a company founded in 2018 with a clear vision: to produce exclusively organic Franciacorta wines, placing the protection of the land and the natural balance of the vineyard at its core.

"When we founded Terre d'Aenòr in 2018, we chose organic as a starting point, not a goal. Today, considering the environmental challenges facing agriculture and viticulture, we are even more convinced that this is the right path to preserve the Franciacorta region and restore its identity in the glass," says Eleonora Bianchi, CEO of the company.

A choice that, over the years, has proven increasingly relevant. In a context where climate change and a growing awareness of sustainability are profoundly transforming the way we think about agriculture, organic viticulture is no longer just an option, but an increasingly necessary direction for those who work closely with the land.

“For me, going organic is a thoughtful and proud choice, a choice that embodies the great respect I've acquired throughout my working experience, towards the environment, its ecosystem, and the end consumers of the wines I've produced.

"It gives me great satisfaction knowing that our vineyards can be explored year-round by people and animals, enjoying nature with its colors and scents without any problems. I'm delighted to see them populated by birds, rodents, reptiles, and countless other species," adds Ermes Vianelli, Technical Director.

The technical challenges associated with this choice are more than compensated by the satisfaction. Even when one of our consumers, telling me about their tasting experience, not only appreciates the taste but also emphasizes the feeling of well-being they experience both during and afterward, it's gratifying.

This and much more encompasses the pleasure and desire to be organic.

For Terre d'Aenòr, organic is first and foremost a cultural vision of agricultural work. It means cultivating the vineyard while respecting its natural balance, promoting biodiversity, and preserving the vitality of the soil, a key element for the quality and longevity of the vines.

In the company's vineyards, agronomic management is geared towards creating a vibrant and balanced agricultural ecosystem. Controlled grassing helps maintain soil structure and encourages the presence of beneficial insects and microorganisms, while cultivation practices are designed to support the vines in their natural cycle, intervening only when necessary and using environmentally friendly methods.

Organic, from this perspective, isn't a sacrifice but a more conscious approach to viticulture. The goal is to preserve soil fertility and allow the vines to best express the character of the Franciacorta terroir.

This philosophy continues in the cellar, where the grapes are meticulously processed to preserve their integrity and original characteristics. Gentle pressing, constant temperature control, and targeted processes allow the wine to mature without altering its identity, preserving the fruit's quality.

Organic certification

All Terre d'Aenòr wines are certified organic according to European regulations, a recognition that attests to rigorous compliance with the agronomic practices required by the organic regulations.

This commitment is further confirmed by analyses conducted by Valoritalia, which confirm the absence of chemical or synthetic substances such as herbicides and pesticides. This result represents concrete evidence of a daily commitment to the natural quality of the grapes and the production of authentic wines, with full respect for the environment and the consumer.

A project that looks to the future

Today, several years after the company's founding, Terre d'Aenòr's organic approach takes on even greater significance. Not only as a production method, but also as a contribution to protecting the Franciacorta landscape and safeguarding soil fertility.

Among the hills of Franciacorta, Terre d'Aenòr has been pursuing a coherent and conscious organic viticulture since 2018, where sustainability is not a recent achievement but the starting point of the entire project
