Four prestigious wineries—Uberti Vini, Argiano, Corte Capitelli, and Fratini—are on the Diversity Ark certification journey. These companies have chosen to rely on a rigorous standard, verified by independent bodies and recognized by Equalitas, to analyze the true health of their agro-ecosystems and respond with objective data to the challenges of climate change.

Uberti Vini, Argiano, Corte Capitelli, and Fratini have chosen Diversity Ark certification to measure the true health of their agro-ecosystems and respond to the challenges of climate change with data.

The transition to regenerative agricultural models is no longer a theoretical choice, but a technical necessity requiring rigorous measurement tools and multidisciplinary expertise. In this context, DiversityBio , a Benefit Corporation born from the combination of agronomic, naturalistic, and management expertise, announces the inclusion of four outstanding wineries in the Diversity Ark program, the independent certification verified by CSQA, CEVIQ, and Suolo e Salute that assesses the actual agro-ecological management of companies. Uberti Vini, Argiano, Corte Capitelli, and Fratini have decided to rely on this standard, also recognized by Equalitas for its ability to analyze soil biodiversity, to provide a concrete response to the challenges posed by climate change.

The desire for greater transparency is what drove Silvia Uberti of Uberti Vini to embrace the project. "In the past, we've adhered to various protocols, including organic, but I've often felt limited by certifications that focused more on bureaucratic management than on actual fieldwork," explains the owner, emphasizing a clear departure from past experiences. "In ten years of organic farming, we've rarely seen in-depth technical analyses like multi-residue analyses on leaves; often, compliance with the registers was sufficient. With Diversity Ark, the change in pace was clear: I found authentic and practical people, capable of combining an in-depth knowledge of the world of vines with a profound vision of the entire natural universe."

This vision is shared by Francesco Monari of Argiano, who identifies soil biology as the only true tool for resilience. "Chemistry is no longer the solution: today it cannot solve the problem of climate change," says Monari. "Only a philosophy that allows the soil and its biology to express themselves can do so, creating an ecosystem capable of strengthening the vineyard from within. Thanks to Diversity Ark, we discovered the presence of archaeophytes, very ancient species that represent an important sign of the naturalness of our soils and tell us how alive the soil is."

For Gianluigi Marchesini of Corte Capitelli, already certified organic, the encounter with Diversity Ark represented a natural evolution of an already consolidated approach. "This approach has added a higher level of attention, with in-depth assessments of previously unseen aspects such as functional biodiversity, which is essential for the health and maintenance of the vine, while fully respecting the plant and the surrounding environment," says Marchesini.

The Fratini winery in Bolgheri has also chosen to integrate biodiversity into its decision-making processes, driven by the need to give an objective and verifiable form to an agronomic philosophy that has always been oriented towards sustainability. "We chose Diversity Ark because we were looking for a concrete and scientifically based approach, capable of adapting to the specificities of our wine-growing territory," explains Stefano Galbiati . "The certification process we are following and the relationship with qualified professionals has transformed into a profound exchange of knowledge that has allowed for an unprecedented characterization of our terroir." Thanks to this monitoring, the winery has been able to precisely map the vitality of the soil and the effectiveness of its ecological infrastructure, using data on microbial biodiversity and pollinators as the technical basis for forward-looking territorial development.

As a Benefit Corporation, DiversityBio continues to reinvest part of its profits in non-profit activities and educational projects, with the aim of creating lasting value that goes beyond simple agronomic consultancy, promoting a culture of biodiversity that will be the shared heritage of future generations.
