The standard received the “Quality Project 2026” recognition in the Essential Guide to Italian Wines for its sustainable commitment throughout the entire winemaking chain.

The awards ceremony, held at the Hotel Principe di Savoia in Milan, provided a prestigious platform for the entire industry, where the top Italian winemakers met one of the world's finest examples of sustainability.

Now in its twelfth edition, the guide edited by Daniele Cernilli and the DoctorWine team, one of the most authoritative guides on the Italian wine scene, this year recognized the central role of Equalitas in promoting informed and responsible change for the sector. This dialogue continued within Wine on Earth, in collaboration with Earth Day Italia, an exclusive space within the Milanese awards ceremony, a meeting point between the world of wine production and a sustainable approach. This initial presentation of the guide will be followed by a second meeting in Rome and, for the first time, an international event in London, just steps from Trafalgar Square.

We are deeply honored to receive this award, which not only represents a testament to the work carried out by Equalitas, but above all confirmation of the value of sustainability as a fundamental pillar ,” said Riccardo Ricci Curbastro, recently reappointed as president of Equalitas . “ This is an important recognition that goes to all the producers who choose us and collaborate with us to build a greener and more lasting future for the world of wine, where winemaking quality and sustainable development walk side by side .”

The "Progetto Qualità 2026" award represents a significant milestone for Equalitas, which has experienced exponential growth in numbers and in the number of countries served, confirming its position among the most internationally recognized sustainability standards year after year. One of the leaders in the green evolution of the supply chain, it now boasts 8.8 million certified hectoliters and 14,500 branded labels, with over 435 certified operating units, for a 139% growth in the last three years, translating into a total turnover of approximately €6 billion.

These figures demonstrate how sustainability is increasingly a core value for both companies and consumers, as well as within the industry's leading publications. Among these, DoctorWine stands out for having added a dedicated space to its over 3,400 award-winning excellences, thus highlighting the world of wine through those who promote a more environmentally and community-friendly future—a direction for which Equalitas remains a key reference.
