Presentation of the new 23/24 Focus of the Green White Paper
WATER, AN ESSENTIAL RESOURCE FOR THE HEALTH OF THE PLANET
Just over 2 years after the national presentation in Rome of the first edition of the Green White Paper "For a neo-renaissance of the care and management of greenery" (12 October 2021) and approximately 1 year after the presentation of the second edition on “Health Parks” (20 January 2023), the third edition of the Green White Book has been reached .
There are over 50 authors who, with specialized skills and from different points of view, have contributed to enhancing this edition, with precious contributions, testimonies, proposals and concrete solutions in the face of the worrying phenomena underway: climate change, drought, desertification processes and erosion, rise in temperatures and, at the same time, intense rainfall and flood phenomena, alteration of water courses .
Extreme weather phenomena that require a rethinking of city planning and governance models , the development of targeted policies and strategies in rural areas, the identification of new types of planning and intervention, the selection of suitable tree species to be brought necessarily move forward together with the development of both adequate and articulated professional, multi- and interdisciplinary skills, and of timely and innovative techniques and technologies for the maintenance and care of greenery.

The presentation of the first edition, organized in Rome on 12 October 2021 , at the national headquarters of Confagricoltura, constituted the start of a continuous and articulated path that moves in time and space, with conferences and initiatives of a national and regional nature , to meet the various interlocutors in the sector, promote moments of discussion and debate, and open up to the wider user base.

The systematic nature and periodicity of the events , on a regular basis, strengthen the path of the Green White Paper, increasing the ability to have an impact on a political and cultural level, expanding the network of operators, professionalism and skills, but also of free citizens who they intervene actively and proactively in the various initiatives.
