The Wine Business Program approaches its second edition, marking the continuity and consolidation of a project that, already in its first cycle, demonstrated its ability to connect high-profile training and the world of production . Promoted by the Consorzio Italia del Vino and implemented in collaboration with Luiss Business School , the initiative, which will begin on September 14, 2026, was created to guide young talents toward qualified placement in the wine sector through a program that integrates teaching, workshops, and direct experience.
The first edition concluded successfully, involving 28 member companies and project partners and a select class of students interested in building their professional future in the wine industry. This experience confirmed the validity of the proposed model and its ability to concretely address the sector's critical structural needs—the need for professionals capable of combining managerial skills, supply chain knowledge, and an international outlook —while strengthening the dialogue between education and business. Experience has shown the direction taken is the right one, confirming that the path can represent a concrete opportunity for access to the sector: some of the companies involved have in fact formulated targeted internship and placement proposals.
In the second edition, the practical part will be expanded from two to three full months . The classroom portion, however, will remain unchanged, structured into days of lessons concentrated from Monday to Friday, with modules dedicated to the economics and organization of the wine sector, marketing, export and wine branding, digitalization, artificial intelligence and sustainability, leadership, communication, and project management. The program will also be enriched with practical exercises and laboratory activities, maintaining a strong connection to the real needs of businesses .
"With the Wine Business Program, the Consorzio Italia del Vino is strengthening one of the three strategic pillars of its development— training —by continuing an investment focused on the sector's long-term competitiveness," said President Roberta Corrà . "The successful conclusion of the first edition confirms the value of a project capable of creating a direct link between academia and business . The collaboration with Luiss Business School continues to be a distinctive element in training qualified professionals and guiding young people toward an increasingly informed and prepared entry into the wine sector."
"The first edition's participants stood out for their motivation, participation, and strong interest in the sector," explains Luca Pirolo , Associate Dean for Multi-Hub Strategy and Scientific Director of the Wine Business Program . "The results achieved and the positive feedback from partner companies confirm that the program responds to a real need in the industry : to support young talents towards qualified placement in the wine sector through a training experience capable of transforming into a true professional springboard . We therefore look forward to the next edition with confidence, certain that we will continue to make an important contribution to the competitiveness of one of the key sectors of Made in Italy."
