The only Italian winery to receive this prestigious award in the beverage category, it joins the global packaging design elite with the label for its G.Low line—low-alcohol wines with an alcohol content of 8%—that changes color as the serving temperature changes.

The recognition, as the only Italian winery for the beverage category , testifies to the winery's ability to combine creativity, sustainability and innovation, placing the Verona group in a list of winners that, already in the shortlist, included leading international brands: not only in the beverage sector, with Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Moët & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot, Dom Pérignon, Heineken, Guinness, San Pellegrino, Nescafé, Vodka Skyy, Grey Goose, Hennessy, Tanqueray, Johnnie Walker , but also in other sectors such as food (Barilla, Baci Perugina, Sammontana, Mutti, Oreo) or fashion (Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein), luxury (Bulgari) and technology giants such as Microsoft, Google and Meta.

The graphic design for G.Low is by Advision , an internationally award-winning branding, packaging design, and integrated communications agency based in Veneto. Advision stands out for its ability to combine aesthetics, functionality, and innovation, creating unique identity and visual communication projects, primarily for brands in the Wine & Spirits sector. has been able to translate the fresh and contemporary identity of the G.Low line into packaging with vibrant and bright colours, from acid green to light blue,

The collaboration with the Fedrigoni paper mill, launched in 2024, gave rise to this pilot project: G.Low also stands out for its circular approach to production. The award-winning labels use Re-Play Tintoretto Gesso: a self-adhesive paper made from pure chlorine-free cellulose (ECF), FSC™ certified and made with 15% recycled glassine, a material that turns waste into value, helping to reduce energy consumption and promote a concrete model of circular economy, marking the first example of upcycling in the self-adhesive sector in a closed-loop recycling system.

Emanuele Bonvicini , marketing manager at Cantine di Verona, explains: " The captivating design and sustainable materials are combined with the technological innovation of this project : the award-winning labels have an experiential feel, using a thermochromic paint that changes color with temperature, transforming the bottles into a visual indicator. An invitation to savor the wine at its optimal freshness. It was a tremendous satisfaction to see Cantine di Verona recognized in this context, alongside internationally renowned brands. Today, packaging is no longer just a dress, but becomes a language and an interaction: it guides choices, generates experience, and amplifies the product's identity ."

" G.Low, in addition to evoking glow, also has a nod to the terms Green and Low in its name: we wanted to respond to the need for more conscious, authentic consumption, in line with new drinking styles , by offering more sustainable and lighter wines, without compromising on quality and the soul of the territory, " emphasizes Luigi Turco, president of Cantine di Verona . "The Pentawards award crowns this project and tells us that we have also succeeded in translating the idea into an international and competitive visual language ."

The award was collected over the weekend in Amsterdam , during the gala dinner organized at De Kromhouthal: Emanuele Bonvicini for Cantine di Verona was joined by the art directors of Advision, Matteo Zantedeschi and Ilaria Bontempo.

G.LOW - The line, presented at Vinitaly in Verona last spring, includes two wines: Bianco, made from Garganega and Trebbiano grapes, and Rosato, made from Corvina and Merlot, both with 8% alcohol content. The alcohol content is obtained naturally through early harvesting and controlled fermentation, thus preserving the grapes' sensory profile. This approach avoids dealcoholization, which Cantine di Verona considers unsustainable and potentially detrimental to the wine's sensory characteristics.

CANTINE DI VERONA - Cantine di Verona is a winemaking cooperative that currently brings together Cantina Valpantena, Cantina di Custoza, Cantina Colli Morenici, and Brolo dei Giusti. The project was born with the goal of enhancing the winemaking identity of the province of Verona, combining strength, vision, and resources to create a modern, integrated, and competitive group.

The group's wines are an expression of the Veronese terroir: from the hills of Valpolicella to the slopes of Lake Garda, each label embodies the history, soil, and climate of a region rich in tradition. Cantine di Verona produces a comprehensive range, from classic Veronese appellations—Amarone, Valpolicella, Custoza, and Garda—to contemporary lines with distinctive identities.

At the heart of the company's mission is a strong commitment to sustainability on three fronts: environmental, economic, and social. In 2024, the cooperative achieved EQUALITAS certification, which certifies responsible agricultural practices and attention to the ethical dimension of the cooperative model.

Concrete initiatives include installing photovoltaic systems, reducing the average weight of bottles, conscious water management, and designing sustainable packaging using recycled and recyclable materials. Furthermore, thanks to a unique cooperative approach, the group supports its members with training services, technical assistance, and the valorization of their contributions, strengthening the connection between the region, viticulture, and the community.

With over 500 member suppliers and distribution centers serving both national and international markets, Cantine di Verona is a leading player in the Italian winemaking scene: a company that combines quality, local identity, and responsibility.
