VINITALY INTERNATIONAL, SIMEI, AMARONE FAMILIES AT THE ITALIAN EMBASSY IN WASHINGTON
Yesterday, a special event for Italian wine promotion and for the consolidation of trade relations between Italy and the USA took place.

Amarone Families, Vinitaly International and Simei (Salone internazionale macchine per enologia e imbottigliamento) were the protagonists of the exclusive event which took place at the Italian Embassy in Washington.
The event was attended by over 300 operators, traders and press members.
To support the initiative of the Italian players, the Italian Ambassador in America "The good news is that wine consumption is growing worldwide ? the Ambassador Claudio Bisogniero commented - thus creating more opportunities for everyone. Events like these represent excellent opportunities for wine lovers of all kinds".
The United States is a key market, in fact Italy is the first of the importing countries in the U.S. soil, Italian wine reaches 34% of the overall market share of imported wines in America.
On this occasion Vinitaly International has announced that it intends to increase the American presence in the next Vinitaly edition. ?The biggest international exhibition dedicated to wine, which this year hosted over 4,100 exhibitors and 150,000 visitors (up 6% compared to 2012), of which nearly 53,000 are foreign (+10%) - Giovanni Mantovani, chief executive of VeronaFiere, explained - will set up for the first time the international Pavilion: an area dedicated to wine production abroad, with a focus precisely on the American production".
Amarone Families for export
During the event was organized an historical tasting of Amarone vintages selected by the 12 Families ( Allegrini, Begali, Brigaldara, Masi, Musella, Nicolis, Speri, Tedeschi, Tenuta Sant'Antonio, Tommasi, Venturini, Zenato) that with Vinitaly International share the mission of promoting Italian wine in the world.
For the President of Amarone Families, Marilisa Allegrini, ?Amarone is one of the leading Italian red wines, the most famous and popular in America, and represents the third largest market outlet for the association. This event - the president said - is the premise of a promotional plan that will culminate in the next Vinitaly edition when, in collaboration with the Fair, we will organize initiatives to raise awareness of the territory of quality Amarone among American producers and wine lovers who will be guests in Verona".
