Specifically, in the second quarter of 2024, the unemployment rate fell in Italy to 6.8%, while in Veneto it collapsed to 2.7%, a level that analysts define as physiological. Therefore, in this historical moment, the challenge is not to create jobs tout court, but stable and fairly paid jobs that will retain workers, especially young people, to companies in order to undertake a growth path together. In this regard, Bottega SpA, a winery and distillery in Bibano di Godega, has created “Bottega Academy”, a training program born from the consideration that the wealth of a company is given first and foremost by its human resources. This project is divided into training courses for candidates who want to become part of the Bottega SpA world, but who need to be adequately prepared, both from a technical and organizational point of view. It is reserved for groups of 10 people who are hired for 6 months by the company and regularly paid, taking advantage of an 80-hour training course, guided by an external teacher and the company's department heads. The remaining time is dedicated to the practical application of the theoretical teachings, in order to acquire adequate experience in the field. At the end of this period, the course participants, if deemed suitable, may be hired permanently. Already for the 80 training hours, a fixed-term hiring of 6 months is foreseen with the starting classification of the food sector, which entails a gross salary of 1,726.52 per month for 14 months. Bottega Academy was born from the lack of skills in some sectors, in particular the difficulty of finding line toolmakers for bottling machines. Specifically, in 2024, the search for candidates was focused on recent graduates with a passion for mechanics and electronics, with excellent manual skills, and on workers with experience in the production line, even from other product sectors. In the future, it is likely that Bottega Academy will also be extended to other sectors, including the commercial area, to train and insert into the company structure professional figures dedicated to interfacing with customers and developing the sales activity.
Sandro Bottega, president of Bottega SpA, states : “We are certain that continuing our business successfully will depend on the ability to consider company life as a succession of teachings and learnings, which will allow us to improve ourselves, develop new skills and know how to work in a group with continuity. The first days in the company represent a sort of imprinting for each worker which, through the training course channeled in the right direction, allows us to grasp and recognize talents, so that they are not lost but are valued to the best in the interest of the individual and the company.” Bottega continues: “In relation to the results of the project underway in this last part of 2024, we intend to train and hire other people also in 2025. Our goal is to build step by step, together with the workers themselves, the professionalism we need to continue to grow.”
