If the answer is no, the opportunity is Barbatelling, a series of events organized by CasaleComics & Games in the frame of the Calicentro 2021 event that bring together wine and comics in the headquarters of the Enoteca Regionale del Monferrato (first courtyard of the Manor), making it September 26, the venue for two exhibitions, two (decidedly unusual) tastings and two meetings with very special authors. Here's what the first weekend has in store for us.

Thanks to the precious collaboration with Vincomics, the event born in 2018 in the Cinque Terre, Barbatelling hosts Bottiglie D' utore about thirty fine wines with even more precious labels, they are in fact unique pieces made by the greatest masters of post-war Italian comics, Manara, Giardino, Hugo Pratt among others.
The second exhibition is dedicated to the participants of the contest " Stories of Grignolino in Grignolino ", organized in collaboration with Slow Food Condotta del Monferrato. Twenty works from all over Italy that have reinterpreted the most significant wine of Monferrato and the territory where it is born in illustrations and comics. The exhibitions will be open to visitors throughout the opening of the castle from 18 to 26 September - Free admission
Monferrato wines meet Francesco D'Ippolito
Saturday 18 September at 5 pm the first of the "Vincomics Degustatio" is held, a parallel tasting that sees the wines from the Beccaria Winery available to the participants, presented by Laura Beccaria (Grignolino del Monferrato Casalese DOC, Monferrato Freisa DOC and Barbera del Monferrato Superiore DOCG) and on the other side of the table Francesco D'Ippolito who will comment on them in live painting. D'ippolito is one of the leading authors of Disney Italia ever since his first story "Qui Quo Qua e l'oro metropolitano" was published on Topolino 2419 in 2002. (Wizards of Mickey, Pikappa, DoubleDuck, Galactic Ducks, Commissariat of Topolinia disappeared section ...) in 2006 he is one of the authors present in the story Ciccio and the upside-down birthday who earns the curious record as the longest comic story in the world. Outside Disney D'ippolito works for Sergio Bonelli Editore and other publishing realities. Ferruccio Giromini, a journalist specializing in the history of the image, leads the meeting.

Comic book for drinking with taste
If you want to be cool with a glass of wine in your hand, but you have no idea what "vintage" means or what difference there is between a Franciacorta and a Prosecco. The meeting on Sunday 19 September at 5 pm is the one for you: Francesco Scalettaris and Giò Di Qual present their " Knowing wine - A comic book for drinking with taste" (and Beccogiallo). Together with Vito, the protagonist of this story that winds through cellars and vineyards, you will discover all the secrets of wine while having fun. Giò Di Qual will also draw in live painting for the occasion. Journalist Genny Notarianni moderates the meeting that promises to be as sparkling as the two Friulian authors: Francesco Scalettaris, a French mother, but raised in Italy, saw in Goscinny and Uderzo the opportunity to make these two sides coexist peacefully, but after having graduated from Somellier and having started working with wine, he also understood that even the Italy-France wine rivalry could not be resolved so easily. Gio di Qual draws cartoons for the satirical magazine Mataran, holds courses in comics and drawing with the most varied associations and organizations, has participated in the collection of "stories Il Fronte di Fronte - Diari", published by Beccogiallo. With the collection of comics Trestorie he inaugurated the Minimestorie series, curated by the association of illustrators Spicelapis, with which he collaborates. He has published three original comic books in Friulian.
