The structure was born from the recovery of an ancient farmhouse from the 18th century, dedicated to the production of wine, the only example of this activity in the Vulture.
In the locality of Piano Regio there are other buildings which can, once completed, be used as a high-level agritourism (the proximity to MATERA, the European Capital of Culture 2019, is very important, about half an hour by car).
It is a historic company, founded in 1922 with my grandfather, which sells most of the grapes (all DOC certified) and transforms a smaller part. He has obtained numerous and important national and international awards (“5 Grappoli”, “Tre Bicchieri”, “Tre Stelle di Veronelli, “Top Hundred”); we have also been guests in numerous television broadcasts by RAI such as "Signori del vino" (RAI 2), "Geo & Geo" (RAI 3) and by Mediaset, such as "Ricette di famiglia" (Rete4) ... in the next few days we are waiting for RAI 2, which for the broadcast "In viaggio con Marcello" has chosen us as the only representative company of the production of Aglianico del Vulture.
The company is healthy, and the only reason that pushes me to sell it is the impossibility of following it due to an accident that occurred to my son.
The entire farm is made up of a street level used for the transformation of grapes, the aging of fine wine and bottling; a ground floor used as tasting and entertainment rooms; of a first floor where the administrative offices are located.
The street level intended for the processing and storage of wine is well equipped for the activity, in fact the photos show the state of the places and the related equipment such as the bottling machine, steel tanks, oak barrels, various machinery and instrumentation for grapes, press, tractor, etc.
The ground floor intended for tasting is furnished with fine antiques and with special finishes, which make the environment welcoming, comfortable and perfectly suited to the context: the stay is thus pleasant for the numerous summer visits to the company (up to 50 visitors per day).
The factory is equipped for the aging of fine wine, with three underground caves which favor a constant temperature for the aging product. The oak barrels are placed inside them. In the final part of the first cave an appendix was created which allows the connection with the building and with the tank compartment where the bottles are deposited waiting to be labelled.
As mentioned, the lands of the farm intended for cultivation (mostly intended for the Aglianico DOC / DOCG grape variety and for the rest for olive trees) appear irregular in shape and on a slight slope along the minor axis in a SOUTH-EAST direction with excellent exposure; the quality of the soil, a predominantly uniferous medium mixture with a tuffaceous background, has a cultivable and removable layer with deep diggings, thus ensuring and guaranteeing an excellent fertility power and a very high drainage capacity, which allows the vine to acquire a considerable quantity of elements which will then be the basis of its charm.
The land, as previously mentioned, is planted with recently planted Aglianico vines covering approximately 9 hectares in excellent vegetation conditions, and approximately 6 hectares of IGP olive groves; two parcels have been included in the agricultural regulatory plan for the recognition of another 1500 square meters of volume, ideal for creating a wine resort, with a wedding hall.
The vineyard land has a fair market value per hectare as it is a recognized agricultural company that produces Aglianico DOC and DOCG.
