In the heart of Ferrara, at a stone’s throw from the Cathedral, in an ancient palace dating back to the fifteenth century, for over 50 years Trattoria da Noemi has been putting tradition in the table: all the typical dishes of Ferrara, made today with the same recipes, the same passion and the same love for the genuineness of the past.
Originally run by Mrs. Noemi, the restaurant is now managed by her daughter Maria Cristina, the true soul of the place, who personally oversees the preparation of each dish: from pasta, rigorously hand–made and stretched with a rolling pin, to the Tenerina pie, one of the many specialties of this place.
Alongside Cristina, her husband Pietro and a courteous and friendly staff will put you at ease and make you feel at home.
LA TRATTORIA was built in 1989 and has always had the same management and the same kitchen staff. We propose specialties and traditional products of the area with even vegetarian and vegan menus, always careful to offer as far as we can organic products.

From its own 11 hectares of vineyards located in the vicinity of the Abbey of Pomposa, the Corte Madonnina Farm produces DOC wines of Bosco Eliceo, such as Fortana, Merlot, Sauvignon and Bianco del Bosco.
Savory and fruity wines, particularly harmonious and fragrant when enjoyed young, intense and full if aged in oak barrels.
The Corte Madonnina Farm is owned by the Scalambra family and produces also soybeans, corn, wheat, beets, tomatoes, peas and radishes. It has a large park with native trees (8 hectares), a park (4 hectares) with trees for the production of fine wood (walnut, oak, ash, elm) and a 1–hectare orchard for the production of ancient varieties (apples, pears, plums, cherries and sour cherries).

Historical information:
The Palace where the restaurant Il Cucco is located is very old, as proven by an internal structure consisting of a wooden beam that certainly dates back to the fifteenth century. There is no evidence to say it, but the structure of the property, with a large space in the center that can remember a cloister, reminds of an ancient convent. In the bar, there is also an authentic wooden counter, dating back to the early 900. The current management began in 1983, but in the place where today this pretty little restaurant is located, public places of more or less high level had their seat for a long time, since the beginning of the nineteenth century. Opened to be a pub–tavern, after the second world war, the current Cucco was a wooden ball club, then a hunting and fishing club, an alehouse, and finally a tavern again.
Il Cucco is run by the brothers Maurizio and Michele Coreggioli ... Maurizio is the cook, Michele is the waiter. They are properly supported by four employees. This restaurant–tavern has sixty seats inside, with two rooms, one of which in a very nice mezzanine, and an exterior that is located in the rear garden, where there are as well as other sixty seats. Only in summer, of course, you can enjoy an outdoor pergola. The kitchen of the Il Cucco tavern is traditional of Ferrara, to which the Coreggioli brothers have added personal features, but always within the context of Emilia. Some examples: Cappelletti with meat, Cappellacci with pumpkin, Estense pie, Salama da Sugo, trifle, chocolate Tenerina and, to vary, fillet of the harbor, pork in asparagus cream, traditional but also modern gourmet dishes, to suit all the tastes of customers.
