Italy Goes Against the Trend: Production and Consumption Growing

Mediobanca Report 2025

  • In the face of a global decline in production (-4.8%) and consumption (-3.3%), Italy shows positive signs: 15.1% production and 0.1% consumption (37.8 litres per capita per year).
  • 255 companies were analyzed, with a turnover of 11.7 billion euros (94.9% of the sector).
  • Exports cover 50% of revenues.

Veneto wins the wine championship

  • Veneto is the leading region for production (25% of the national total) and for economic value (over 20%).
  • Puglia follows (16% of production) and other growing regions.

Sales down in the off-trade channel
