Italy Goes Against the Trend: Production and Consumption Growing
Mediobanca Report 2025
- In the face of a global decline in production (-4.8%) and consumption (-3.3%), Italy shows positive signs: 15.1% production and 0.1% consumption (37.8 litres per capita per year).
- 255 companies were analyzed, with a turnover of 11.7 billion euros (94.9% of the sector).
- Exports cover 50% of revenues.
Veneto wins the wine championship

- Veneto is the leading region for production (25% of the national total) and for economic value (over 20%).
- Puglia follows (16% of production) and other growing regions.
Sales down in the off-trade channel

- Sales at 732.2 million euros (-1.5%), volumes -3.9%.
- Average price per litre: 4 euros (2.5%).
- All channels (hypermarkets, discount stores, e-commerce) are decreasing.
