ITALIAN WINERIES

🔸 Bolgheri: Cantina Meraviglia is born, Bulgheroni's new challenge. A monumental work carved into volcanic rock houses the new Tuscan winery designed by Alejandro Bulgheroni. Three levels, 7,000 square meters, and a terrace overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, this project embodies oenological and architectural excellence.

🔸 Scorrano: the cellar becomes architecture in the Palazzo Ducale The Castello Frisari project transforms the historic spaces of the Palazzo Ducale into a modern cellar, restoring functionality and beauty in a respectful dialogue between architecture and production.

🔸 Collio: Zuani Winery, a white wine vocation and international success . The Zanon family focuses exclusively on high-quality white wines. One hundred thousand bottles a year, 70% of which are exported: the United States, Japan, and Northern Europe are the main markets.

🔸 Bra: Cantine Ascheri, a Barolo refuge between history and wellness In Bra, a historic land of Piedmontese wine, a complete food and wine concept is born: cellar, restaurant, spa and hospitality designed by Matteo Ascheri.

🔸 Cantina di Venosa: three medals at the "Città del Vino" International Competition . Carato Venusio DOCG 2017 wins the Grand Gold Medal. Awards also go to Gesualdo DOP 2020 and Verbo DOP 2021. Aglianico del Vulture takes center stage in Rome.

🔸 Corato: the former Terra Maiorum winery and oil mill is up for auction. The historic structure on Via Giappone, built before 1967, is now the subject of a public sale with the possibility of redevelopment.

ITALIAN WINE AND ITALIAN ENOLOGY

🔸 US tariffs: Italian wine at risk. The most affected appellations are Prosecco, Pinot Grigio, Chianti, Brunello, Barolo, and Nero d'Avola. The 30% tariffs announced by Trump risk becoming a veritable embargo.

🔸 Trentino: diversifying markets to defend exports With 683 million euros in exports at risk, Trentino is aiming to diversify its markets to respond to the American threat.

🔸 Italian wine slows: -3.7% in volume, -0.9% in value. The first four months of 2025 mark the first real slowdown in Italian exports since 2019. The US pays tariffs (-9.3% in value). Non-EU markets are also struggling.

🔸 Prosecco Dop resists the crisis: 1.5% in value Prosecco confirms its position as the driving force of Italian winemaking, with 527 million euros in exports in the first four months of 2025 (1.5%) and growing volumes (3.4%).

🔸 Italian wine surplus: record stocks and reduced yields. With over 43.6 million hectoliters unsold, many wineries are considering yield cuts and even uprooting. Minister Lollobrigida is cautious: "We're not in crisis yet."

🔸 Piedmont: The regional department downplays the crisis. Despite 40,000 hectoliters of unsold wine and a 12% drop in bottling, the Region is still not talking about an emergency. "Distillation is the last resort," says Bongioanni.

🔸 Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi: storage extended until 2026 To contain supply and protect the value of the denomination, the consortium is extending storage, aligning it with Pinot Grigio delle Venezie and IGT Emilia-Romagna.

🔸 Veneto: 25,000 seasonal workers are missing in agriculture. Cia Veneto reports delays in authorizations: with the season already underway, only a minimal portion of non-EU workers have been authorized.

🔸 Oltrepò Pavese: medical checks for grape harvesters begin. The free health certification service for seasonal workers will begin on August 4th, in collaboration with Cimi-Av, Ats Pavia, and agricultural organizations and trade unions.

INTERNATIONAL OENOLOGY

🔸 RUMOR Rosé: the new organic elegance of Provence Born in France and also a protagonist in Italy, RUMOR is the organic and vegan rosé that redefines the elegance of rosé. Selected grapes, a minimalist approach, and essential design.

WINE EVENTS

🔸 "Vineyards and Culture": fifth edition in Sant'Antonio di Santadi . The Costa Verde food and wine festival will take place on August 2nd. Tastings, sports, and tradition are the focus of the event promoted by Pro Loco Arbus and GAL Linas Campidano.

🔸 Vinitaly and the City: CREA explores the future of wine. Between biodiversity and innovation, CREA offers talks, masterclasses, and tastings of experimental wines and EVO oils in the heart of Southern Italy. Focus on SPUMAPULIA and Calabrian cultivars.
