Italian wineries

• Cantina Perticaia (Montefalco) awarded with three Award Rosso at the WineHunter Award 2025 (Sagrantino 2018 DOCG, Trebbiano 2022 DOC and Rosato 2024 IGT).
• Vicobarone Winery (Piacenza) : President ousted from confidence, new board elected.
• Montefiascone Winery (Viterbo) : Shareholders' meeting to boost image and expand international markets.
• Cantina Valtidone (Piacenza) : success in Canada for the Malvasia 50 Vendemmie (silver at the Selections Mondiales des Vins ), and return of the Picchio Rosso festival (4-5 November).
• Arillo in Terrabianca (Tuscany) : the “Tuscan Teorema” combines wine, hospitality and high-level catering.
• Cantina Il Bottino (Lanuvio, Lazio) : the Bianco Avvio 2023 wins you over with its freshness and flavor.
• Oltrepò Pavese : 15 wineries open for tastings, picnics, and immersive tourism experiences.

Italian wine and oenology

• The 115 Italian wine champions : companies with a turnover of over €100 million cover 63% of the national market, driving exports and the sector's resilience.
• The 2025 harvest in Piedmont : an excellent year for the Alta Langa, but consumer tastes are changing (more low-alcohol, dealcoholized wines, fewer bottles).
• Alto Adige : Special award from the Wine Consortium to James Suckling for over 40 years of promoting Alto Adige wines.
• Veneto Region : Support for the International Wine Museum Foundation of Verona with new funding and multimedia projects.
• Rising prices : wine, fruit, and vegetables are increasingly expensive in Italy and Europe, due to the climate crisis and production costs.

International

• Ticino (Switzerland) :
  • Terre d'Autunno ages its wines in barrels made from local wood.
  • Production under pressure: declining consumption and a fragile market, but 2025 promises to be a good year.
• France : Château Lafleur will abandon the Bordeaux and Pomerol appellations from 2025, in response to climate change and the rigidity of regulations.
• Istria (Croatia) : the former Stara Škola school becomes a reference point for catering and typical local products.
• Hong Kong : Albert Yeung's collection up for auction (426 bottles, estimated value €1.1 million).

Wine events

• Monferrato Unesco Wine Festival (19-21 and 26-28 September) : 31 Pro Loco associations, 30 wine producers, tastings and popular vote for the “wine of the festival”.
• Friuli Doc 2025 (12-14 September, Udine) : three free concerts in Piazza Libertà as part of the food and wine festival.
• Cellino San Marco (Brindisi) : “Dialogue between flavours” seminar with wine and honey pairings (August 28).

⚖Society and territory

• Pavia (Lomellina and Oltrepò Pavese) : A raid on farm gangmastering resulted in a complaint and fines of €6,000.
