The Future of Italian Wine in the UK
The UK remains a key partner for Italy in the wine market, despite new excise duties and environmental taxes. Italian wine exports hit new record in 2024
According to ISTAT data, 2024 marks a new record for Italian wine exports, reaching a value of 8.1 billion euros (5.5% compared to 2023). Volumes have also increased (3.2%), with strong growth in sparkling wines (12%). The Minister of Agriculture, Francesco Lollobrigida, defines the result as "a miracle like the wedding at Cana", while acknowledging the challenges related to duties and changing consumer habits.
