The Tommasi family celebrates the 2010 vintage of an iconic wine through an innovative artistic and musical project: #TheWineRecord, a musical collection, which tells the De Buris high-end wine project with the universal language of music

The Tommasi family celebrates the 2010 vintage of De Buris - Amarone della Valpolicella Classico docg Riserva - through the innovative project The Wine Record : the first concept album where wine becomes music. The eight musical tracks that compose it combine the sounds of the wine production phases with the sound translation of the meteorological data of the 2010 vintage, creating unique and unprecedented sounds. De Buris is the luxury of time. Time is in fact the central concept around which the cultural and oenological project of the fourth generation of the Tommasi family revolves, which respecting tradition, has created an Amarone Riserva that wants to be the most contemporary interpretation of the territory it represents, the Valpolicella Classica. The passage of time that accompanies the wine production cycle with colors, scents and taste blend in artistic balance and become the score of an original oenological and musical work: De Buris Amarone della Valpolicella Classico docg Riserva 2010 , an icon wine, which defines a new interpretation of Valpolicella. «De Buris is the maximum potential that a single vineyard and a terroir, unique for its extraordinary qualities, can express in a wine . - comments Giancarlo Tommasi, oenologist of Tommasi Family Estates - I like to think, with satisfaction and pride, that the 2010 vintage preserves the essence of Valpolicella: De Buris represents the contemporary reinterpretation of traditions, ancestral processing techniques and at the same time the elegance and harmony of a work or, in other words, the beauty of art. For this reason we have decided to present it through a language as unusual for a wine as it is appropriate to tell its peculiarities: music. The Wine Record is art. It is the story of the wine production cycle as it has never been told before. Wine is color, aroma, taste and emotion, but it is also sound, movement and harmony, which Giacomo Ceschi, artist and sound designer from Verona, has been able to translate into a unique and original musical collection ». The Wine Record - concept album 1 - LA CHIAVE - LaparcellaDeBuris, delvignetoLaGroletta, the terroir where it all begins, in the heart of the Valpolicella Classica, with unique peculiarities, which allow to produce a great wine. 2 - THE BREAK - The drying describes a 110-day breath after the harvest: a delicate moment of interval, a real whisper capable of articulating. 3 - COMPOSITION –Washing, after the drying of the grapes follows the pressing, a short phase of cryomaceration and fermentation, the latter took place in oak vats, in an adagio of 30 days. 4 - THE ACCENT - The elevation in the barrel is a rest that lasts for five years, in the silence of the oak barrels in the cellar of Villa De Buris, the oldest in the Valpolicella Classica, where the wine is left to its own intimacy for mature the essential harmonic component. 5 - THE RHYTHM - Bottling is a pressing, excited moment, during which the cellar becomes a suggestive choreographic and the rhythm is the protagonist, with the tinkling of the bottles and the rhythmic steps of the machinery that mark the dance of the wine. 6 - IL CRESCENDO - The refinement in the bottle: the refinement divides the notes, sedimenting the harmony built up over time, and Villa De Buris hosts and accompanies the bottles of De Buris in the completeness of its evolution. 7 - THE AGREEMENT - The combination: De Buris is ready, the intonation of the understanding is essential, whether it is combined by contrast or by completeness, and requires a company worthy of experience. 8 - THE SOLO - Tasting is the abandonment of the senses in the expansive meditation that a great wine accompanies. The Wine Record is the work of Giacomo Ceschi, artist and sound designer. De Buris - Amarone della Valpolicella Classico docg Riserva 2010 De Buris 2010 is a great wine. A Riserva cru that comes from the De Buris parcel (1.9 ha) on the highest altitudes of the La Groletta vineyard, 10 hectares in total at 250 meters above sea level, which hosts 30-year-old vines overlooking Lake Garda. De Buris is the maximum expression of this single vineyard and of the grapes that have made the history of Valpolicella Classica: Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Oseleta. The 2010 harvest began slightly later than in previous years, conditioned by the winter cold and rain, which lasted throughout the spring and summer characterized by significant temperature variations. This caused a slowdown in the development of the plants and, therefore, a postponement of the harvest, which however produced healthy grapes, with sparse bunches and a thick skin, ideal for drying . A phase, the latter, extremely delicate, which lasted for 110 days on bamboo racks in the dedicated loft, where a ventilation system maintains a constant air flow and a low percentage of humidity. The vinification process continued with the pressing in January and with a cryomaceration of about 10 days. The alcoholic fermentation took place slowly for 30 days in oak vats, exclusively with indigenous yeasts, while the malolactic was carried out once during the first year of aging in Slavonian oak barrels. The wine continued its aging for 5 years in the 15 / 30hl oak barrels of the ancient cellar of Villa De Buris, where it continued to rest in the bottle. De Buris is a wine that requires ten years of constant and obsessive attention, a time that will return multiplied in the glass dressed in richness, complexity, depth and balance: the herbal aroma of the undergrowth announces the dense and full-bodied red color, together with details of blackberries, ground coffee and hints of dark chocolate and pink pepper. On the palate it shows its velvety, decisive and well integrated tannins, balanced by a vibrant acidity and savory mineral notes. The rich licorice aftertaste is persistent, followed by an intriguing mocha finish. De Buris 2010 was produced in 8,268 bottles and 150 magnums. De Buris Prize This year, for the first time, the De Buris Prize is awarded , in collaboration with ArtVerona . Art is the fil rouge, which over the years has accompanied and narrated this superb wine, the oenological pearl of the Tommasi family, which has therefore decided to enhance the creativity of all young Italian and foreign visual artists under 35 . The award involves the acquisition of a work that expresses the essence of De Buris' 2010 vintage and knows how to enhance the luxury of Time : in fact, this choice stems from the desire to remember Time as the central concept of the wine and cultural project linked to De Buris and to transmit the commitment to support the research, visibility and talent of the younger generations. The De Buris prize is awarded to Marco Rossetti - Nicola Pedana Gallery with the work "Making the desert to emerge and stand out" for the close connection with the project, which is the contemporary reinterpretation of traditions and ancestral techniques of Amarone processing, and the history of the Tommasi family, now in its fourth generation, guardian of a past that is still alive, but capable of shaping it in new forms to bring out new trends and a product of true excellence, which wants to stand out and trace a new style not only in terms of product, but also of communication and transversal collaborations. It is the bond with an artist who knows how to look and feel the present by seizing the seeds of the future; is the perfect way to celebrate the exceptional nature of De Buris Amarone della Valpolicella Classico docg Riserva 2010. De Buris for the Tommasi family Since 1902 the Tommasi family has been producing wine with a goal that has remained the same in almost 120 years: to return to the territory, to Valpolicella, knowledge and excellence, which produce its nature and its human heritage. In fact, Tommasi represents four generations of pioneers, precursors and above all visionaries attentive to the value of quality in every production phase, respecting traditions and with a taste for discovery that innovation and experimentation determine. De Buris Amarone is not just a great wine, but a project that expresses this philosophy: a wine, a territory, a wealth of knowledge to be shared and celebrated over time.
