The International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV) , the intergovernmental body to which 49 producing and consuming countries around the world adhere, welcomes Italy to its "Consortium" now made up of six important winegrowing realities, including Masi Agricola, who have joined together to support its organization in research and development.
The Consortium includes: Viña Concha y Toro (Chile), Moët Hennessy (France), Sogrape (Portugal), Familia Torres (Spain) and Yalumba Family Winemakers (Australia) and Masi Agricola (Italy) - among the most representative companies on the scene oenological - who undertake to contribute to technical and scientific research in the vine and wine sector and to its dissemination through the OIV itself .
“Having Masi in the Consortium enriches the quality of research and broadens the international scope of the OIV. The club wasn't complete until such an important Italian company joined: Italy is one of the cornerstones of wine and needed to be represented. We will all be able to share his knowledge and experience" said the Director General of the OIV, Pau Roca.
“There are not many companies in Italy, and few globally, that are internally structured for R&D in the vineyard and in the cellar. Masi, whose Technical Group has four decades of commitment to its assets, feels honored to be part of this prestigious and small group and is proud to represent Italy, bringing its requests: the heritage of biodiversity in the grape varieties that has equals, the richness of territories and the consequent oenological expressions” declared Sandro Boscaini, President of Masi Agricola.
Through technical projects, the Consortium supports the strategies of the OIV, makes them knowable and globally uniform, indicates their priorities and is the scientific arm in the fundamental current task of legitimizing wine as a product of culture and territory
