ProWein 2025: Sicilian wine wins global challenges with quality

Now in its thirty-first edition, ProWein, the world's most important trade fair for wines, spirits and alcoholic beverages based in Düsseldorf, confirms itself as a strategic event. A group of six Assovini member companies will be present in the Sicily Area managed by Irvo (Regional Institute of Wine and Oil). The great diversity of the international wine and spirits industry will also be represented at ProWein 2025. With the motto "Discover the Taste of Tomorrow", from 16 to 18 March, the pavilions of the Messe Düsseldorf trade fair organization will host around six thousand exhibitors and four hundred wine-growing areas, over 50,000 professionals from the wine and spirits sector from all over the world and sixty countries represented. Scheduled for March 17 at 11:30 (Hall 16/F69 IRVO), the press conference on the Innonda project , the study on winemaking strategies for the sustainable and innovative production of Nero d'Avola wine, promoted in collaboration with the University of Milan and four Assovini Sicilia member companies. Despite the global challenges that also affect the winemaking world, the foreign market remains a strategic destination for member companies. According to the report by the University of Messina that involved Assovini Sicilia companies, Europe remains the main export market for 95.7% of companies, underlining the strong integration of Sicilian wine in the continent. "For our companies, the ProWein fair represents an important opportunity for discussion and a unique commercial opportunity," comments Mariangela Cambria, president of Assovini Sicilia . "Our goal is to continue to promote the quality of our wines in the foreign market, which is currently threatened by the threat of duties and the decline in consumption. Sicilian wine can win global challenges only with the quality and variety that distinguish our wine production”.
