  • 13/10/2026

An entire day dedicated to the Monferrato denominations: on October 18th in Milan producers, industry professionals and wine lovers will meet to discover Barbera d'Asti and the wines of the area.

Following the presentation of the third edition of the Barbera d'Asti Wine Festival, the event's calendar officially kicks off with the first event scheduled for Sunday, October 18th in Milan from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at The Westin Palace Hotel. The event, promoted by the Barbera d'Asti e Vini del Monferrato Consortium, will offer industry professionals, hospitality and hospitality operators, sommeliers, the press, and wine enthusiasts a unique opportunity to learn more about the appellations protected by the Consortium through tastings and discussions with producers.

" With the Barbera d'Asti Wine Festival, we want to offer concrete opportunities for producers and the public to meet and engage, creating opportunities for in-depth discussion that allow them to learn not only about our wines, but also about the region, its culture, and the people who preserve their identity every day, " says Filippo Mobrici, President of the Barbera d'Asti and Vini del Monferrato Consortium . " Milan represents a particularly important stage in this journey: it is a city capable of engaging professionals, enthusiasts, and discerning consumers, an ideal showcase for recounting the evolution of Barbera d'Asti and the other Monferrato appellations. Through tastings and masterclasses, we want to share the value of a winemaking heritage rooted in a unique territory and firmly focused on the future, investing in quality, sustainability, and the enhancement of the territory. Events like this are essential for strengthening the bond between consumers and our appellations, bringing an authentic story of history, excellence, and vision beyond the confines of Monferrato ."

The highlight of the day will be a walk-around tasting, allowing participants to meet the producers directly and taste a selection of labels representing the Monferrato winemaking heritage. The program will round out with two masterclasses , one at 3:00 PM and the second at 5:00 PM, organized in collaboration with AIS Lombardia and led by Giuseppe Carrus, curator of the Gambero Rosso Guide to Italian Wines. These masterclasses will explore the region's main appellations and their connection to sustainability, identity, and production tradition.

Following the Milan event, the Barbera d'Asti Wine Festival will continue its promotional efforts with a presence at the Merano WineFestival in November and an exclusive event at Le Cattedrali Relais, featuring a talk and cooking demonstration by resident chef Gianluca Renzi, both on the theme of sustainability. This calendar of events is designed to showcase Barbera d'Asti and the wines of Monferrato through experiences that combine tasting, in-depth exploration, and the story of the region.

The initiative is part of the European Born Sustainable project, which promotes sustainable development models through the valorization of excellent products and suitable territories. The project is implemented by the Barbera d'Asti e Vini del Monferrato Consortium, the Roccaverano DOP Consortium, and the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Consortium, all of which share a commitment to environmental, economic, and social sustainability.

Participation in the event is free upon registration.
