Historic notes: it is a variety of ancient origins, already cultivated in pre–Roman times and that has always considered among the wines of the Piave.

Production area: high Piave in the municipalities of Vazzola and Mareno di Piave, Treviso, Veneto, Italy.
Soil: muddy, with gravel.
Harvest: manual, in late October.
Vinification: maceration takes place in stainless steel tanks for 7–8 days at a temperature of 28°C.

Colour: ruby red with violet hues when young, tending to garnet with aging.
Bouquet: typical and exuberant reminiscent of Marasca cherry.
Taste: strong and intense with hints of cherry and blackberry.
