Sardus Pater Winery is located in the island of Sant’Antioco, situated in the south–west area of Sardinia. Built in 1949 as a cooperative society Ltd, it began its activity in 1955. Over the years the production of wine has been improved and focused most of all on the enhancement of Carignano. Grapes, conferred by 280 members, come from a grown with vines area of 300 hectares. Most of the vineyards are of Carignano and the most ancient of them are located in the island of Sant’Antioco: they are vineyards of at least 80 years, planted on sandy soils with low yields per hectare, that produce grapes of the highest quality. From this vineyards the Winery produces its most valuable red wines. In the 1994 vintage, the Winery began the production of Vermentino.

Moreover, there is a small but well–made production of Moscato grapes from ungrafted vineyards and of Monica. Each bottle produced is the result of a wise selection of grapes and an attentive vinification, to ensure consumers a wine of the best quality. Since 2005, the winemaking management of the company has been entrusted to the oenologist Riccardo Cotarella.
