The Villa Diamante company is located in Montefredane, a small town in the province of Avellino, whose hills are higly vocated to the production of Fiano.
Here, Fiano gives its best expression in the marl clay on which a layer of stones prospers, defined in the place “sassara”, which surfaces in the old vineyard and that interposes itself silently between the clayey layers.
The north – north west exposure of the plots of land, 400 meters above sea level, contributes surely to the lively and almost legendary minerality of our Fiano, to its peculiar tertiary aromas of couch grass, flint, and with a cutting, nearly metallic finish.
The three hectares of vine currently grown by the company, rigorously according to the organic production method certified by ICEA, can be featured as follows:
Training system: trellis
Pruning: Guyot spurred cordon
Plant density: up to 6,000 plants per hectare
Grapes yield: 60 quintals per hectare maximum
In the winery, operations are scarce, without filtration nor clarification, they use selected yeasts for fermentation, wine is fined exclusively in stainless steel and with long permanence on the fermentation lees.
The company aims to extract the maximum of grapes without changing their personality and closing in a bottle the soul of the vine, the spirit of the land that is home to them, the peculiarities of the vintage and the mood of the vigneron, with its ups and downs.
The oenologist makes wine with his head and with his pocket, Villa Diamante adds time and heart.
