The Ottin company was founded from passion. The passion of a young farmer for wine and for his land. A passion that comes from afar, inherited from his family, mountain vinegrowers for generations. Centuries–old knowledge and savoir faire that Elio Ottin has been able to exploit by creating his farm in the early nineties, after his studies at the "Institut Agricole Régional" and at the Agricultural Institute of Verzuolo. Agricultural engineer at the Department of Agriculture of the Autonomous Region of Valle d’Aosta, at the end of the nineties left the public service to devote himself entirely to his passion and his company. In 2007, a new challenge: he decided to vinify his personal grapes until then transferred to a local cooperative.
This is how the Ottin wines were created. Wines of great personality, produced largely from native grapes, grown in areas naturally suited to viticulture, where the vine thrives with balance, according to environmentally friendly production techniques.
A young but already established company. The Vallée d&rsquoAoste DOC Petite arvine 2008 by Ottin was awarded an honorable mention in the CERVIM 2009 mountain wines competition and obtained "Quattro Bottiglie" (wine of high–level) in the "I Vini d'Italia" 2010 Guide of L'Espresso. As for the red wines, the L’Espresso guide considers the Vallée d’Aoste Torrette Superiore 2007 Ottin the best Torrette produced in Valle d’Aosta giving it "Quattro Bottiglie" and a score of 16.5/20
