Còlpetrone

Colpetrone is one of the most important wineries in the district of the D.O.C.G. of Montefalco. Sagrantino, a grape variety native to this area, is one of the oldest in Italy and the most rich in tannins and polyphenols. For this reason, it requires a very careful process that enhances its power and uniqueness, and that ensures the right balance and elegance. In the vineyard, high quality farming systems have been adopted with yields of 60 quintals per hectare, well below the 80 quintals permitted by the specification. Montefalco Sagrantino is produced in three versions: Montefalco Sagrantino dry, raisin and “Gold” selection, which is the result of studies carried out in recent years by the business staff of this vine with great potential.

Villa Mongalli

Within the estate of Villa Mongalli a vineyard of 15 hectares has been planted, whose prized grapes produce wines of the highest quality, both for the rare and peculiar characteristics of the clay soil with a compact structure, therefore light, warm and permeable (an optimal terroir for vines), and for its good exposure, and for the passion and commitment lavished by the family, assisted by experts of national reputation, in the production of Sagrantino and Rosso di Montefalco. The vineyard, located at an average altitude of about 370 meters above sea level, is cultivated with the objective to get the grapes perfectly healthy and capable of producing great wines linked to the territory of Montefalco.

The individual varieties of grapes are vinified separately and, moreover, selective processes are conducted according to ripeness, to the exposure and to the nature of the terrain. The collection is normally done with a careful selection of the grapes and fermentation is carried out using modern technology, exclusively in a natural way, ie without the addition of selected yeasts. Our aim was, from the outset, to produce wines with a strong personality that did not exclude a reinterpretation of a native vine like Sagrantino.

Tabarrini

The Tabarrini family has been growing its vineyards with love and has been producing wines in Montefalco, in Turrita locality, for four generations. Only at the end of the 90s, thanks to the intuition and the enthusiasm of Giampaolo Tabarrini, the company changes pace, deciding to bottle wines and to make the most of years of work. A little later, the new winery was founded, surrounded by hills and vineyards, shaping a charming and typical Umbrian landscape where man and nature come together. But it is from love for the land that great wines come. Of the 22 hectares of the estate, 11 are those cultivated with vineyard. Here, Sagrantino, that in Montefalco finds its raison d’être, has a central role, irreplaceable and fascinating. The Tabarrini family treats it with respect and pride, like the other properties of grapes, which are the only ones to be turned into wine. From the grapes to the bottle. And this is the true philosophy of a family that follows in first person, with great care and passion, every single step of its creatures.

Fattoria Colle Allodole

Fattoria Colleallodole of Milziade Antano is a typical peasant family’s farm. The company belonged to the Cav. Milziade Antano, one of the local producers of the historical area of Montefalco, who managed it personally. After his untimely death, the management passed to his heirs. Milziade had worked as a sharecropper in companies of Umbria, until 1969, when he decided to buy 30 hectares of land, beginning to plant vineyards and to breed Chianina cattle. In 1975 the first production of MONTEFALCO ROSSO and SAGRANTINO PASSITO took place, with the addition of SAGRANTINO SECCO and, in the 80s, the aging in bottles began. Francesco, the young son of Milziade, sharing the same passion for the land, soon decided to follow in the footsteps of his father, helping him in the running of the farm, and in 1997 he produced for the first time SAGRANTINO COLLEALLODOLE DOCG. Sagrantino, become CRU of the Farm, is made ​​with grapes from a vineyard with special features and its designation comes from the fancy name “Colleallodole”, inspired by the migration of larks that, in the month of October, have always crossed the knolls and slopes of these hills. Francesco, rich in experience gained close to his father, using only part of the means that technology offers, continues his work, in the tradition of the area, with the ancient and timeless ways of winemaking, with accuracy and constancy, having started with passion, since he was young, to learn the craft of the winemaker. The philosophy of Francesco is faithful to the teachings of his father, according to which quality starts from the ground and from the attention given to the cultivation of vines, distinguishing Fattoria Colleallodole from the others in the area of Montefalco. The care with which the steps of pruning and harvesting of grapes take place is very high, with a careful selection, both of workers, and of the period in which to perform the work in the vineyards. Fattoria Colleallodole currently covers 40 hectares, of which 12 are planted with vineyards. The farm is member of the Consortium for the Protection of Montefalco Wines.

To say Lungarotti is to say Torgiano, the territory that made the Umbria of wine famous. Founded by Giorgio Lungarotti at the beginning of the 60s, the company is now run by sisters Chiara Lungarotti and Teresa Severini. Their commitment and openness to innovation that characterize them, have infused a strong impetus to the company, reinforcing a concrete example of family positivity, as a guarantee not only of the present, but also of the future.

Ferruccio Lamborghini purchased it for leaks in the seventies, enamored of the Umbrian countryside. The area has a population of about one hundred hectares of land, of which thirty–two for the cultivation of the vine. Today, Patrizia, his daughter, manages the company: the production of wines is aimed at the pursuit of quality and territoriality.
