Consorzio Igt Della Valcamonica

In Vallecamonica, a territory known worldwide for its famous stone carvings, the cultivation of the vine was, at that time, much practiced, the piedmont slopes in the proximity of the villages of the valley were almost completely colonized by this noble crop. The epochal changes that occurred in the 70s that saw a general flight from the work in the countryside towards the most profitable and less tiring work offered by the industries, have led to a drastic reduction in the number of hectares planted with vines. The area planted with vines, still present in Vallecamonica, is of about 140 hectares, with about 500 vinegrowers who, after work or retired, take care for their precious vineyards. The vines that appear to be more prevalent in the Valley result to be especially Merlot and Marzemino, for the black grapes. Müller Thurgau, Incrocio Manzoni and Riesling Renano, instead, turn out to be the most present white grape varieties. There are also native varieties which unfortunately are disappearing, like Valcamonec, Erbanno and Sebina. The Voluntary Consortium for the Protection of the Typical Geographical Indication Valcamonica wine, the most recent among the consortia associated to Ente Vini Bresciani, brings together the wine producers of Camuno. Vineyards cultivated in the mountains, in a pristine environment where vines grow distant from pollution while safeguarding the true values of the wine: work, land, originality, biodiversity and tradition of which the mountain vineyards are one of the highest and noblest expressions. Vineyards made by men through a colossal work that lasted for centuries, which has involved generations. The wine–growing areas of the mountains are spectacular works of beauty, are extraordinary monuments to human work.

Consorzio Tutela Vini D.o.c. - Capriano Del Colle

The origins of the Capriano wine are lost in the mists of time, or rather, they refer to the cultivation of the vine, a plant typical of the Mediterranean area, practiced at least two millennia before Christ in the homonymous basin, from whose juice this precious drink is obtained.

About 10 km south of the City of Brescia, in the territory of the Municipalities of Capriano del Colle and Poncarale, in the middle of the Po Valley an upland stands: the Monte Netto, the core of this precious D.O.C. in the Brescia area.

It is a very characteristic area, because Monte Netto rises suddenly in the middle of the upland plain, and becomes the main attraction in the area.

Geologically, Monte Netto has the natural right to the cultivation of the vine, being a hill of alluvial origin, formed in the latest glaciation with significant presence of clay. These morphological features, together with the microclimate of the hill, with good ventilation and lower humidity than the surrounding plain, make all the wines produced very distinctive.

Our Consortium, founded in 1994 (the Capriano del Colle D.O.C. has been existing already since 1981), was created to protect and promote this area.

On the hills you find the vineyards that give rise to this tiny D.O.C., small (100 hectares) as much as significant of the great willingness that animates the many Italian wine regions, so determined to defend the value, certainly more cultural than commercial, to face and to reserve a future to a wine of quality, their wine gems.

Consozio Vini DOC Cellatica

The Consortium for the Defense of Typical and Valuable Wines of the Brescia Province was founded in 1962, with the aim to protect and enhance the wines of the Province. A few years later, with the foundation of the Designation, it became Consortium for the Protection of the Brescia Wines with Controlled Designation of Origin. The efforts were awarded in 1968 with the recognition, at a European level, of the Designation of Controlled Origin (DOC) Cellatica.



The Consortium for the Protection of the Brescia Wines with Controlled Designation of Origin became, since 1990, “Ente Vini Bresciani”. Currently the Consortium for the Protectiono of the Brescia Wines supports and coordinates the individual consortia, founded on that date in order to protect the local DOC, represents and manages the interests of the public. Within the Ente Vini Bresciani, each associated Consortium (including the Cellatica Wines Consortium) maintains its own autonomy and individuality, also to enhance the peculiarities of the wines produced in different areas.

Consorzio Tutela Botticino Doc

Botticino: a small DOC area adjacent to Brescia and famous in the world for its marble, also used for the construction of the White House and the Altare della Patria in Rome. Here the vineyards clinging to the sunny slopes of the pre–Alps heroically survive the urban pressure, protecting the environment and the inestimable heritage of tradition and culture related to wine.



The warm climate and the favorable soil exposures create the perfect environment for the production of red wines of great structure, suitable for the medium aging and rich and savory food, such as game and roasts.



Botticino is obtained from a careful blend of Barbera (min. 30%), a widespread grape variety in the world for its positive attitude to aging and the structure that confers, Marzemino (min. 20%), a local variety which contributes significantly to the color, the aroma typicality and the body, Sangiovese (min. 10%), the most widespread grape variety in Italy, providing pleasant aromatic elegance and softness to the taste, and Schiava Gentile in small percentage (min. 10%) to add a touch of freshness.



The best lots of Botticino can acquire the designation of Reserve if aged, also in oak barrels, for at least two years.

Consorzio Vini Doc San Colombano

Nowadays, the ancient wine tradition is supported by the presence of the Voluntary Consortium of the San Colombano DOC Wines, founded 1987 when, in front of the notary Oscar Lagan, 18 manufacturers, owners of the most important companies in the hill towns, signed the constitution act to protect, promote and defend the production and marketing of wine with a designation of origin. It also performs promotional activities and of rigorous control, both administrative and chemical–organoleptic, of the wines of the producer members, rewarding them for quality assurance, after passing the exam of control, with the mark of the Consortium representing Saint Columban.



In recent years, the Consortium has carried out an important promotional activity. The presence of San Colombano DOC wine in local and regional events helped to raise awareness of a reality with good wine tourism potentials to develop and harmonize, and where the wine–making farms play an important role.

Consorzio Tutela Vini di Valtellina

The Consortium for the Protection of the Valtellina Wines, founded in 1976, since 1997 has been representing all the wine houses and wineries in the province of Sondrio and now the only Italian Consortium that can boast two D.O.C.G. coincident for territory and grapes, on Valtellina Superiore and Sforzato di Valtellina, carried out the activity of control until July 2009. Its aims include also aspects closely linked to the territory, as evidenced by the recent establishment of the Provinea Foundation for the Protection of the terraces in Valtellina. This concept is also found in the dual mission, represented by the enhancement and promotion of the wine of Valtellina in Italy and abroad as a symbol of a territory, and by the protection of the wine culture in Valtellina, an essential element for the protection of an area considered among the most fascinating in the world.

Consorzio Tutela Valcalepio

The Consortium for the Protection of Valcalepio, founded in 1977 by 22 members, today has 86 members and includes more or less 98% of the Valcalepio producers. The Consortium is non– profit and was established to protect, enhance and defend the production and trade of the wines of the Controlled Designation of Origin Valcalepio.



The production area of Valcalepio is located in the province of Bergamo, and is included in the hilly area that stretches from Lake Como to Lake Iseo.



The ampelographical range of Bergamo is definitely vast and varied. The most important varieties are:

white grape varieties: Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Manzoni White, Yellow Muscat;

black grape varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Barbera, Incrocio Terzi n.1, Franconia, Marzemino, Lombard Schiava, Merano Schiava, Scanzo Muscat.



Even some native varieties survive, such as: Merera, Altulina, Gafforella and others that remind us of the historicity of the local viticulture.
