The company was founded in 2003 by the great passion for wines of Giampiero Merano and his sons Matteo and Davide.
Together, they decided to create this ambitious dream: to create a modern Ligurian wine, innovative, with excellent qualities, which could express the sober and decided character of Liguria and the unique fragrances of these enchanted places.
The innovations, both in the vineyard and in the winery, have led to a steady improvement in the quality of the wines and new experiments.
The story of Vis Amoris began in 2003 when Rossana Zappa and her husband Roberto Tozzi decided to buy a small vineyard of the size of slightly more than 2000 square meters, already implanted in Pigato, in the hills of Imperia in the hamlet of Caramagna. The first results were immediately so encouraging to convince them gradually to buy small plots of land in the surrounding areas, snatching them from the state of abandonment in which they had poured for too many years. Above all, Vis Amoris, the power of love, their love, that power that mitigates fatigue, follows passions and indicates the way to fulfill a dream. Currently, the only variety grown in the company is Pigato, available in two different types of wine, one of which takes the name of Sogno (Dream) and the other the name of the vineyard from which it originates.
Soldano is a municipality in the Ponente Ligure area on the shores of the stream Verbone, which gives the name to this small valley. The area of Galeae, where the Ka’ Manciné company produces one of its most important wines, was considered one of the prisons of that time, where detainees were deported and left to themselves, hence the name. It is located about 400 meters above sea level in a natural amphitheater with south east position. In front, on top of a hill, the vineyard Beragna stands, the most historic vineyard of the company, dating back to 1876, with its ancient stocks of Rossese di Dolceacqua, supported even today by its old "scarasse": support poles normally used in the vineyard. It is here where the Anfosso dei Mancinei family fulfilled his most beautiful dream, to give life back to what, in past times, the founder of Mancinei had created through hardships that are unimaginable today. The Manciné name derives from Anfosso Pietro who, being left–handed in fact, was distinguished from the various Pietro in town. To the name, the word KA’ was added, meaning "house", with the use of "K" that commemorates the history of the Saracen and the modern age in which we live. In this land, where for centuries vines have been cultivated, Rossese stems, called in 1972 Rossese di Dolceacqua owing its name to the most representative, but not the most important, village. One of the strongest villages from the qualitative and quantitative point of view was Soldano.
In recent years, Francesca with her husband Roberto and Annamaria have chosen to continue the beautiful work of father Riccardo, affectionately called "u Baccan" ("the leader", in the local dialect). A life choice dictated by strong deep attachment to our territory as a unique environment to preserve and enhance, a silent creator, together with our dedicated and passionate work with the wines of Azienda Agricola Bruna. The philosophy that we apply in the cellar is very simple: in winemaking we pander with pragmatism and sensitivity to the expression of each cultivar and the land it comes from. We prefer natural methods, wines of strong typicality and elegance, without forcing. Maceration on the skins, fermentation with indigenous yeasts, long periods of permanence of wines on the noble lees, have always been our modus operandi on Pigato. At the historic wine cellar dating back to the first twentieth century, in the design stage a wider structure was conceived, in harmony with the environment that will allow us to develop in the future our idea of tradition.
The biodynamic farming company is a real living organism in which an harmonious interaction among a lively soil, plants and the cosmos produce grapes of excellent quality and inimitable originality of expression, which will give rise to wines of unequivocal typicality. In our vineyards we do not use herbicides, do not distribute fertilizers and do not irrigate even in the most torrid summers. The only products that we use for the defense of the plants are small amounts of sulfur quarry and copper.
The Ramoino family, since the early 60s in Sarola, a charming village in the hinterland of Imperia, has been leading this dynamic entrepreneurial reality. The latest entry in the company of Fabiana, daughter of Domenico Ramoino, historical figure among the producers of the Ligurian Riviera, has opened the way for the third generation of winemakers. Their production philosophy prefers the traditional grapes of the area and the search of the most suited soils for each variety. The selection of wines is marked by wines of exquisite workmanship reaching levels of rare elegance in Pigato Anchisa, in Rossese Til and in the selection called La Grotta Dipinta, whose labels reproduce cave paintings of prehistoric origin discovered in caves in the area.
Founded in the late 70s by Felice Foresti, this winery has quickly become a reliable point of reference for this part of Liguria, where the system of breeding with saplings is still used. Today, the company is followed by his son Marco and focused mainly on the typical grapevine of Val Nervia, Rossese di Dolceacqua, available in three different types based on the evolution and the origin. To meet the needs of the market, the remaining part of production is characterized by Vermentino and Pigato, the two traditional white wines of Riviera Ligure di Ponente.
The Lupi Winery today vinifies DOC grapes of Ponente Ligure: the two white wines Pigato and Vermentino and the two red wines Ormeasco and Rossese.
At the end of the 80s the company has made significant investments in the acquisition of 10 hectares of vineyards, the recovery and reactivation of the old social mill of Pieve di Teco and the construction of a new winery in Soldano, in the heart of production of the best Rossese.
Fifteen years after the first DOC of Liguria – Rossese di Dolceacqua – the government has recognized the importance of the wine sector, attributing the DOC to Pigato, Vermentino and Ormeasco.
Well rooted in the winemaking tradition of a difficult but rich land, Lupi has not given up research and experimentation. The meeting, in 1988, with the famous oenologist Donato Lanati, has initiated a successful collaboration, from which Vignamare has been created. Daughter of the same philosophy that has always guided the steps of Lupi is the replacement in 2004 of the bottling chain, together with the choice of a new cap as an alternative to cork; everything to be sure of a product for the consumer with the same quality promises present at the time of bottling.
The Company, recently established, produces DOC wines of Liguria di Ponente: nearly 3.5 hectares of vineyards, including property and rent, are supported by a fully equipped winery: this allows the control of the entire production chain, to say, of vineyards, vinification, packaging, quality, which are the basis of a modern winemaking company.
The location is Pieve di Teco, the most important town of Arroscia Valley, about 25 km from the sea; the vineyards are situated between 400 and 500 meters in height and this makes it difficult to work and manage the farm; the harvest of grapes is manual and vineyard yields are kept deliberately low.

The Maria Donata Bianchi Farm is a small wine–producing company of Ponente Ligure, family–run. They vinify grapes grown exclusively from vineyards owned, situated in the towns of Diano Arentino and Diano Castello. The first bottling dates back to 1977.
From a great passion for the land, with respect of typicality, quality wines have been created, which are not the personal interpretation of winemaking techniques, but which are respectful of the transformation of a grape variety, a reward of daily labor.
Wine, then, is a living creature, cared for and loved, in accordance with the characteristics of the land where it is made.
Azienda Agricola Laura Aschero is a small family–run company that produces every year more or less 65,000 bottles of prestigious wines of Liguria: Vermentino, Pigato and Rossese.
The company, that is located in Ponente Ligure and precisely in Pontedassio, in the hinterland of Imperia, 150 m above sea level, stands on a hill, on eroding terraces, kissed by the sun all over the year and enjoying, then, the ideal temperature and terroir for the development of the vineyard and the maturation of the grapes. The winery, situated in an ancient palace under the square of the town, has been completely restored and now has modern and rational winemaking equipment. We have begun our activity almost as a game in 1980, the owners say, restoring with vineyards the family land, which in other times were used for different types of crops. Helped by the beautiful location of our land, the functionality of the wine cellar and the advice of an excellent oenologist, we managed to get a high quality product, which over the years has earned prestigious awards to quality.
The company was founded in 1996 in Ranzo, in the heart of the Imperia hinterland, at the behest of father Luciano, eager to offer a wine of its production to customers in the elegant restaurant that the Alessandri family had been running at Albenga. Currently, his son Massimo follows the production, mostly focused on the Pigato grape variety, available in two versions with different mark and structure.
The company was founded in 1870, when Tommaso Rondelli decided to plant the first vineyards of Rossese Dolceacqua, a DOC vine exclusive of the Nervian Valley area, in a region of white and clayey soil, called Terre Bianche.
Claudio and Paolo Rondelli and Franco Laconi are the protagonists of the company enlargement in the years 1985 and 1998, that allowed not only a further substantial increase in production, both quantitatively and qualitatively, but also the ideal completion of the farming work with the farmhouse activity.
Since the late nineties Filippo has replaced his father Claudio alongside Paolo and Franco in the company’s management. Since then, the quality of wines has been enhanced further, which have come to obtain the most important awards, with the addition of the experience offered to guests in the farmhouse.
A modest vineyard in Liguria's Imperia yields an impressive historical achievement linked to the local pigato grape variety, produced for the first time in six unusual versions, one of which is the very first sparkling wine made exclusively from that grape, the Metodo Classico Millesimato 2009. VisAmoris is the offspring of passion for a harsh but generous corner of earth, Liguria, Imperia. The dream seemed also a challenge: produce a unique wine from a special area that would marry together colours, flavours, fragrances, emotions... In 2004, Rossana Zappa and Roberto Tozzi, decided to make that dream reality and to commit themselves to a new adventure.
Anforsso Estate is a young company, but of ancient vinegrowing origins: in 1888, James Anfosso replanted the vineyard Poggio Pini in Soldano, with partially still existing plants, where Rossese di Dolceacqua Superior is made.
Today, the company covers about 42,000 square meters, including 13,000 square meters of vineyards in Soldano in Poggio Pini and 29,000 square meters of vineyards in the town of San Biagio della Cima in the Luvaira locality.
With hard work and sweat they grown vineyards, located in the hills between the sea and the mountains, with steep slopes, in bands held on by dry stone walls where the work of men is constant and there is no mechanization.
